Hi All!!

I just arrived in Shanghai on Monday. Was introduced to the website by Richvenom. Wow.. didn't know there's so much activities to meet new friends for a new expat like me. Very Happy

Since i just arrrived not long ago, i haven't really ventured out much. So, would definitely like to join in the activities.. keep me involved ya! Looking forward to meeting you guys .. by the way, i'm 26, hopefully, it's not too old to be classfied as "young" expat? heh heh...

well, is anything happening at the brazilian BBQ on friday evening ?

I won't try and organize, as I am just too far away, and I'll be late anyway.
There's a fish'n'chips party at eager beaver at the same time, (check out the fish'n'chips thread on this forum) so I suggest we all meet there if noone's game to backup mentos (man, now we see how big a job you've done !).

Bonus, there will be a very special event there at 10pm (ppl below 18 should not be there, anyway)...

Hmm.. so far only 2 people replied to me about Saturday. I can not join in for dinner on Friday because I already have other plans (my successor on the job just arrived in the company and I want him to meet some people tomorrow). But we will definitely go to Mural after that, so why not meet there? Regarding the coffee meeting in Paulaner on Saturday, so far it would be me, Muse, a Danish girl and another German guy, so 4.. If I dont receive at least 4 more replies until tomorrow night, I will post here and call it off, alright? Hope to c u all tomorrow night then..

well, think i will most probably drop the BBQ brazilian - guess that would be good with a big crowd of people and seem that it aint gonna be the case.

if tomorrow is cool for me, i will be heading for the fish n chip then - work just keep piling up today. it has been a long time since i get busy.

I repeat, I won't be organizing a meeting (bbq) this friday or weekend because my folks r coming over to visit. For those who are looking for sth to do on the weekend, you can go to:

1)shexpat coffee meeting on SAT morning at shan xi nan lu starbucks
2)Fish n chips night on fri (check out the thread)
3)Concerts on SAT

I'd probably check out the concert at harley's bar at 8:30pm since it's so close to where i live. Hope to see u guys there! Wink

I hope those of you who went to the concerts last weekend had fun. The next Shanghai Young Expat meeting will be held on Fri night, possibly for a brazilian or argentinian bbq. I will post the specific address later.

same rules: Inform me if you are going to come by posting, emailing, or pm me, along with your cellphone number. Those who do not leave your cellphone numbers would not be replied/considered.

I will send a cellphone message to EVERYONE WHO HAS GIVEN ME THEIR CELLPHONE NUMBERS on Thu evening/Friday morning to confirm with you the address in english n chinese and let u know my cellphone number in case u may need some directions on that day.

Sorry, I cant join in on Friday night since its my last Friday in China for the time being and we have sort of a goodbye thing from work. Will be in Mural later, so lets meet there again. Generally, I liked the coffee meetings on Sunday around 14:00 since there was never anything else on Sundays. If you could move the meeting, I could join in Wink

yep! going to be there on friday. although i'm not such a big fan of the brazilian bbq because most of the meet is not cooked properly! -- i know, most of you like it...
i don't like blood though, i'm not a vampire (although my teeth are characteristic)
anyway, i think it should be good fun again.

The location should be very central as it is pretty close to the shanghai library, which is 10 min. away from hengshan lu station or chang shu lu station. Robert, fyi, it's either one or two metro stops away from you.

The meeting was fun, thanks to Mentos again for organizing it! Some of us ended up staying in some bar in Hengshan Road until 5 and then went bowling until 7 Laughing
