Hi everyone
From what i've seen in the recent posts, looks like those of u who stayed in sh had a great time. I had a great time travelling n i'm sure the others did too.
Any suggestions for the location of the next meeting? Chromatin seems to have a hot spot in mind; send me the address & tel. no. if possible. Thx! |

hello everyone!
Hope all of you successfully endured the first week of 2005! Even though it's still MONDAY, but I just wanted to inform u guys that there'll be a dinner meeting this coming FRIDAY (14 Jan). As usual, any expat under 24 who r interested in meeting new friends r welcome! Whether u've just been here, or have lived in shanghai for a couple years.
However, as we try to control the group to less than 15 ppl., ppl who rsvp by posting and/or PM me your cellphone numbers will be invited.
"First come, First Serve" U'll have to wait for the next meeting once the slots are full.
The location for dinner will be somewhere in nanjing xi lu, in a cantonese restaurant. For the exact location, only when you are registed n have ur cellphone no. sent to me will i then text it to you.

hey this might meet a loud no, but i was wondering if you guys would be down to try some western food? Not like i have a place in mind, but i sure do miss the food at home.... not like it's the greatest food in the world, but there's always Hooters, or TGIFridays (which my uncle said sucks really bad), Taco bell or somethign?
And if you guys don't wanna do it for the weekly dinner, anyone wanna go with me to a place like that? |

p.s. It's actually Taco Bell Grande. The Chinese are witty little copiers. But as noted by the Grande, it means it's much better and bigger than the original Taco Bell.
Anybody for In & Out, Jack & The Box, Checkers, Burger King, Carls Jr....oh man, I've really done it to myself now. There's no way the fried rice I'm having for lunch and the ramen noodles for dinner are ever going to satisfy me now. |

awwwww.... in and out.... mmmmmmm. i feel like those stupid commercials they have where someone sends a kid back east an in n out singing telegram and the kid has to go all the way back to CA just so they can have a burger.... |

hey, there is a YPHH event tonight (wed, Jan 19th), starting at 6:30. Is anyone planning to go? It's at the Blue Frog, i heard that they have pretty good burgers and stuff.
PS, YPHH = Young People Happy Hour, the host events for young people to build connections for business or just for fun. I have never been to one, but I've been told that it's usually very good. I am planning to drink today, but burger and new friends sounds good. Anyone cares to join me???

In case you haven't noticed, the young expat gathering is actually held BIweekly. So I won't be organizing a friday dinner until next week. However, I might go to Blue Frog tonight though.
