Ladytron is a British Electro girl band. They will perform with a local band Hua Er together. The venue is on a lawn of Fu Xing Park. Starting from 19:15 till late, Oct. 6. But why the hell I can't get through their hotline: 800 820 8056 or 5301 8056?... |

Hi guys! i was not at the coffee meeting last saturday cos i was in Beijing and don't know where all the other guys went..if u like u can contact me by email (sonicvale@hotmail.com) and we can set the event again, i'll text Mentos to let him know, he's the only contact I have. Saturday at 2 pm is ok for me, even 3 pm.
about the ladytron concert u can by tickets at the door paying an extra, or at the british council or at a thai restaurant at 141 Jianguo zhong lu 建国中路 which is in both Luwan and Xuhui district. unluckly i won't go..run out of money... sob sob.let me know about who wants to gather on saturday.cheers |

Hi guys,
It's Mentos here, the organizer of the first Young Expat Coffee Meeting!  While the first meeting was a success, I didn't get to go to any of the ones after that partly coz I was too busy with some stuff and also because I received almost zero responses or interests from people coming for the next meeting. But you guys proved me wrong! People have shown interest either through posting or writing mails to me.
For our next ''official'' coffee meeting, let's set it on SATURDAY at OCT 16 at 2p.m. . As some of you have pointed we need to get more organized to guarantee a truly successful gathering; nobody getting lost, not sure how many people are coming, etc.
TO THOSE WHO WANNA COME: email (not pm) me at mixedmelody@hotmail.com with the title "Young Expat Coffee Meeting" , leaving your CELLPHONE N EMAIL , and I will send you a text message upon receiving it. Rest assured that your contact information will not be disclosed to any third party.
After getting enough (9-12 people) confirmation, I will post a new message to confirm with everybody as to who's coming and the specific location (n how to get there). Expect the message to be posted on Wed or Thu. |

I think the reason that no body went to the 2nd coffee meeting is because everybody hooked up at the 1st one, and are busy dating each other 1 on 1.

Can you confirm that? BTW, what was the boy to girl ratio at the 1st meeting?
Now everybody lets remember just because you found somebody interesting, their is no reason to not be social in a group setting. |

I'm not sure if what you said abt people hooking up 1 on 1 n forgetting abt future coffee meeting is true. At least not for me coz i wasn't in sh that weekend anyway. Secondly, there wouldn't be enough girls for the guys to date anyways! There were about eight guys and only three girls. And most of them there were Americans (including Asian americans). Just to let you guys know that any expat is welcome! Don't let the yanks dominate again this time, hehe.

Hi Guys,
The coffee meeting last Saturday was quite successful. Saruman is a funny, outgoing german guy who includes beer in every topic. Bamse is a French guy different from the typical ones you always thought; wink wink he knows wat i'm talking abt. Rabea is a hot girl who i assume is still single, hear that guys?
Anyway, there are some things that need to be improved in order to make this meeting more organized. For one, Bamse comes all the way from Suzhou (two hours away) and that I realized a lot of people who said they would come did not appear. However, we spotted some people wandering around, possibly trying to find us.
So Please follow the guidelines below if you are interested in coming to the next coffee meeting:
1. You are an expat (foreigner; including TAiwanese, Hong Kongnese, Singaporeans, Malaysians, and other Asian countries)
2. You are between 17-25. We want to ensure that all the participants have common topics to talk abt. For those not within the age range, you can always consider the weekly Shanghai expat meeting held on Saturday morning at 11pm at Shanxi nan lu starbucks
THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE:
3. Send me an email at mixedmelody@hotmail.com titled "Young Expat Coffee Meeting", providing me your valid cellphone number. I will send you a message upon receiving it. After the meeting, I received responses from people who were there but couldn't find us. So, DO SEND ME YOUR CONTACTS AND CONFIRM IF YOU ARE COMING. Rest assured that your personal info would not be disclosed to any third party.
As for the next meeting, some have suggested to hold it anywhere but starbucks. Restaurants, other cafes, etc... Any feedback would be appreciated. For now, let's set the next coffee meeting to 30th of october.

BTW, mentos is a funny Singaporean guy with the organizational skills of a Prussian General. You dont want to mess with him considering these rules. Misconduct will be severely penalized by one round of beer at the next meeting  |
