Post subject: Next Meeting at L16

Hi guys,
I'm suggesting a lunch gathering this SAT in a Thai restaurant, called L16. Not only is it much quieter than Starbucks, but we can also enjoy lunch in a more comfortable environment. Plus, it would be much easier for us to find each other. Last but not least, it's relatively inexpensive: They offer a 28rmb and a 38rmb set lunch menu, equivalent to or slightly more than a cup of coffee in starbucks. Since the lunch offer ends at 2pm, I suggest we could set the meeting to 12 pm. The location should be close to the HENGSHAN ROAD metro station (one stop away from Xu jia hui):
L16
Daily 11.30am-10pm. 4-6 Hengshan Lu, by Wulumuqi Lu. (6445 1616)

Abt bamse's suggestion on wearing clothes of similar color, I think it's a good idea, what do u guys think? Maybe bright/light colored shirts?? Since we all have to wear dull colors on weekdays Razz

Hehe, ok, no bright colors... Wear anything u guys want, I know almost of the ppl who r comin anyway, so there shouldn't be too much of a problem recognizing. Btw, for others who wanna come, Thursday before 5 pm is the last day for informing me. I will check my mail n the post at that time and book the seats according to the number of people that have confirmed AND HAVE GIVEN ME THEIR CELLPHONE NUMBERs. The list for now includes:

I'm very new to your gathering, but I definintely qualify - 23yo.
I know you've run out of slots - can I get priority because I'm fresh? : )

Anyway, really happy to know this type of gathering for young guns like us exists. Gosh, I am so reluctant to attend these YPHH things because I'm flying solo on assignment here, and being a girl, not easy to get around at night.

Guys,
I booked the seats for 8 already, but if fewer or more people come they can adjust accordingly. The restaurant's regular menu is quite expensive (100rmb/person spending average) but the good thing is that the set lunches r relatively inexpensive at 28rmb and 38rmb (without drinks). Furthermore, they r also available on weekends.

Of coz ur invited! I think i've replied you, i just forgot to add u to the list. My bad.

As for Halo, maybe some of us will go somewhere else for alcohol, especially with Saruman taking the lead. Razz

I know a bar called CS Bar where alcohol is the cheapest i know in shanghai. 15rmb for a bottle of budweiser, if i remember correctly.

i think anybody is welcome, isn t it mentos?i have another request : i asked a chinese friend (a girl) to join us, she has already met some of us last sunday, she's cool i am taking here with me even if no slots are available.sounds like a menace eh? so please mentos add Lili in the list.
about nightlife: there's a indie rock concert on friday evening 8:30 pm at Harley Bar, xujiahui 265 Nandan dong lu..come! lots of us will be there so it's just another chance for socializing and meeting friends, drinks are 20 yuan each, and 30 yuan at the door.
i'd liek to go to the c's bar i read somewhere on this website it's quite shabby i simply worship shabby places! so maybe i can join u later in the evening for some drinks!

Hi everyone,

The meeting went on well! We went to L16 n Sasha's, enjoyin beer outside (coffee n tea for girls). As usual, the next coffee meeting will be held in two weeks, which is on Nov 13, SAT. Any ideas/suggestions for the location are greatly appreciated.

Juniperberry has informed us that she'd like to go to suzhou this weekend, and so do i n my gf! Maybe we can have a mini expat coffee meeting in suzhou! Razz

Hehe, we're expanding very rapidly eh? For those interested, either post or email me or laurent, who'll be our host AND tour guide of Suzhou. Smile
