Post subject: Has anyone stayed on Kata beach (phuket)??

This will hopefully be my last Thailand question (okay, probably not), but has anyone stayed on Kata beach? Weīre narrowed down to two places, one on Kata Noi (Kata Thani Resort) and on Kata (Kata Beach Resort).

Kata Noi seems great, but I heard itīs not walking distance to restaurants, shops, bars, etc. Even if itīs a 5 minute drive, thatīs a lot more hassle than walking.

Is there much to do at Kata beach? Will we have to go to Patong beach everytime we want to do things??? Any personal insights are much appreciated!

Thanks for any help!

stayed on kata beach. there're restaurants n stuff on kata beach. but its more like a sleepy town.. also tend to be more familly oriented.. its quieter, and the beach is okay.. but i ended up going to patong cuz thats where most of the young ppl were.. clubs/ bars were also mostly at patong.. but if u want a quiet chilled out holiday, i reckon kata beach shld do the trick. Thanks debbunny. Weīre travelling iwth our then 7 month old baby, so we do need it to be a little more relaxed. It seems Kata Noi is even more quiet, so I hope Kata is a good middle ground. The travel agent mentioned Patong is better for single men Laughing
