| Post subject: new guangzhou airport |
anyone has been there? any thoughts? .. huge airport.. not enough signs/tv..finally found the tv but tv showing boarding gate instead of checkin counter.. too many counters standing in messy order.. slow checkin .. rude people "serving" u.. what else?
it was like nightmare for me when i was there.. i got trapped for 10 hours because it took me more than 30 mins to figure out where to checkin.. then i was told i was late for 5 mins even though there were still plenty of seats on the flight.. they shut u down 45 mins before the plane takes off.. and of course they shut your mouth to explain too..
when i finally got my next flight.. it was delayed again because my poor airplane lost its way and didn't know which gate to park.. so.. messy in and out.. |

China has so many top of the line hardware, but for the management and the software, it's ...........well, just a waste. |

They must have improved things a lot in Guangzhou airport in the meantime. I was at the new airport a bit over a week ago, and I was quite impressed. It was just before the National Day holiday, so I expected a bit of a mess with so many people traveling.
I found the new airport very spacious, and well organised. Best airport I have seen in China, and very good by international standards. Reminded me a bit of HK airport (and that one also started out with quite a lot of problems at first). A bit far out of town, but then most of the new airports are. |
