Post subject: Fun Stuff to do in Gubei?

I just moved from the more center part of Puxi over to Gubei near Mandarin City and Carrefour. Thing is there is nothing fun to do here for recreation. Does anybody know of any daytime recreational things to do in the Hongqiao/Gubei area? How about the nightlife? What decent places are there to hang out at here? Looking for some good watering holes and daytime hangouts.

There is a pedestrian street full of bars and restaurants between Hongxu Lu and Hongmei Lu. I'm not sure how popular it is though cos I seldom go there myself. But The Door (1468 Hongqiao Lu, close to Yan'an Xi Lu) is definitely worth checking out! An elegant bar with the best designe in SH maybe:) Some people living in Hongqiao I know often hang out at Champion Bar in Marriot. I say have a go if you like sports and meeting 40+ years old bizmen. All that said, Gubei is not a great place for nightlife. I always head for downtown when I go out. Sigh...

Yeah, I know the Door. It is good and I like the music that they play now, but you gotta have friends to hang there. It isn't exactly a singles watering hole.

There is Fire Lounge, but that place gets noisy and "complicated" sometimes.

I know the bar street you are talking about. I have yet to go check it out. I'm wondering if the new community Gubei Phase 2 will have any decent bars.
