Post subject: Debit Cards in Shanghai
hi all,

does anyone have experiences in applying/using debit cards issued by a local bank? I have done a search on past topics and found that credit card applications are more tedious, as in you need more documentations to be supplied.

What about applying for a debit card that has Visa or Mastercard and not just Visa Electron or Mastercard Electron? the reason is because i am a professional photographer and every now and then i need to buy things from the States or UK, and purist VISA or MASTERCARD are more widely accpeted than the Electrons versions.

Are they safe?? Are they easily forged? how's banking with a local bank? any recommendations ?

any info in this matter is appreciated.
