We are moving to Shanghai and are curious about the Shanghai Rego and the Shanghai Community International schools. Does anyone have any advice? Also, I have seen some posting regarding a school called Pinghe(?). Does anyone have further information, including website?
Thanks |

SCIS is a much more established school with three campuses and an American based curriculum. SRIS is 2 years old with a British based curriculum. It also has a sister school in Tianjin. Both seem to have reasonable reputations. A friend of mine investigated Ping He for her son but was turned off by it's very long school day. |

my son goes to SCIS -the big campus at changning. I like the environment, and he seems happy. there are always going to be issues at all of the int'l schools here - so do your own investigation and find out for yourself. i had minor issues with the school, but when i voiced them, they listen, and take action. i think that's impt. anyway, my son's learning very fast there, and socially happy, so that make us happy too. he's only 5, so perhaps that's why we can't say too much about the curriculum. |

check out my posting on this site also, titled as:
"Excellent and Inexpensive School-From K-12".
The school is called SMIC.
My son went to Ping He last year for one semester, too. Yes, the long school day is also a thing I transferred him out to SMIC.
But that also depends on which language primarily you want your child to learn. In Ping He, no doubt Chinese; in SMIC, you can choose native speaking Chinese or as a second language type of material. ...etc...
Very tough choices. |
