has anyone done the sunrise climb on Hua Shan?
looking for tips etc please

I did this last year. Pretty tough climb and the places to stay up the top are fairly ordinary. It is not as nice as the other famouns peaks. However I think it is worthwhile and there is a lot less tourists there. You can take a chairlift up to the north peak if you are feeling lazy.

My suggestion would be to bring warm clothes and stay up on the mountain the night before. Climibing up in the dark could be a little dangerous. I stayed at the Beifang Fandian but it was nothing special.

You can get a bus there from Xian but I decided to catch a train and then got a motorbike to the start of the climb.
