Post subject: CHANG JIANG 750 Where to buy a decent one in Shanghai???

Hello again All,

Now that I have settled into Shanghai quite well, I am wanting to buy the Chinese made Chang Jiang 750 so that I can explore the city and its surrounding areas over the coming months. Besides all of that, it is a great way to get from place to place.

Does anyoen know where I can buy a Chang Jiang 750 in good condition here in Shanghai without killing my bank account? Yes, I understand the restrictions on motorbikes and plates. But that has not stopped many adventurous people purchasing one of these bikes.

Not only am I looking to buy a bike very soon, but I would also appreciate any information from current riders on where they have their bikes serviced/maintained and any other pieces of information they would like to pass on.

Please feel free to email me directly at my_adventure@hotmail.com

I look forward to your assistance. Happy and Safe Riding to All.

You are right. There are a lot of places that sell the Chang Jiang. But are any in Shanghai?

Can you shed some light on this area? You seem to have the knowledge, please pass on what you know.

Do you own one of these bikes?

Are you a rider yourself?

Hi!
I'm a rider too and tremendously miss my bike that is rosting in Europe.
Does a web site exist that describes this Chang Jiang 750?
What kind of bike is it?
By the way, yestarday I saw a yamaha R1 in SH and felt like a electricity trough my body... and it was 50m far from me! Is that normal?!?

Is someone interest in a GoKart section this saturday?
Drink beer, talking about bikes, drive go karts?

Do somebody know about mini-moto in SH?

Hi,

Chang-Jiang 750cc is a sidecar motorcycle, very similar in design to the BMW R71 (1938) and Russian Ural/Dnepr sidecar machines.

registration of this interessting bikes stopped some years ago and very difficult and $costly$ to get a registration transfered in case you found one. as well, this sidecar bikes cannot be registered as a private individual, only companies can register this kind of bikes.

www.butchshanghai.com hosts the Shanghai motorcycle club website and they got the Chang-Jiang sidecar pretty much covered at there website and photo album. no minibikes but i remember they got a couple of Monkey (Honda Z50) bikes going.

there is a Ferrari dealer on Yannan road (near Zhenning Road) and they have a Yamaha R1 (180000RMB) and Yamaha 1800 Wildstar (160000RMB) for sale but no license / registration available according to the shops sales people. them two bikes make nice coffe tables, though.

happy trails! Hans
