| Post subject: Need a tailor for a man's suit |
Looking for a (highly skilled) tailor. Any suggestions? I don't mind going to Dong jia du to pick up material and then somewhere else to have my stuff made. Unless you know of a very good tailor at Dong jia du. But I have heard horror stories. . .
Anyone with experience? |

there are quite a few tailors in dong jia du and according to my chinese friends a few of them are very good as long as your suit is pretty standard design stuff. so there suggestion is to shop around there, as my chinese friends say many laowais' get tailoring done there. if all else fails you could try bangkok... if your passing thru... now the quality and workmanship and prices are awesome there. |

address: #6, lane 288 Wu Yuan Lu, between Wulumuqi Lu & Wu Kang Lu

BE CAREFUL of the fake "Dave's Tailor" at the American Centre on Nan Jing Lu - this shop is NOT the real Dave's Tailor.

many friends ahve had the REAL Dave's Tailor do their suits and with excellent results. As Benoist mentioned there is a FAKE on out there too, so go to the one he lists in his post, NOT the one at the Portman.

As he says, "if you dont see my face, you're at the wrong place!"
Ocryan, not ridiculously expensive. And he is a 'real' tailor, if proper custom made is what you're looking for.

Check one of the earlier threads in this forum........there's a good one near Tianshan xilu intersection with Pusong beilu. On Pusong beilu first alley right, along the small river .............forgot the name, but its in the earlier threads. |
