Hi, you can take Line 1 to HuangPi Road (one stop before People's Square stop if you are coming from Xiujiahui)

Find the exit to Huahai Road -

When you come out, you will see an intersection - Huhai road will be the street you are on and Huangpi road will be the intersecting road going North to South. You should see the Hong Kong plaza infront of you on Huahai Road.

Go to the North-East corner of Huahai and Huangpi to the computer city building. It's huge - You will know you are there because you will see Cannon cameras, other devices being sold at the very entrance.

Starbucks wifi access: I read here and there that it is free, but in practice I did not find it free. Need to buy those cards or register with China telecom and they charge to your mobile. Charge is rather high, it will cost more than my coffee considering I would spend hours there working on reports etc. instead of sitting in my boring office. I read some posts about free networks in Xujiahui Metro City starbucks. I also saw they have free wifi in Sasha but I dont feel like working there... Any idea? Thank you guys.

Hello,

1. I have bought my first Tian Yi Tong card in the computer shop in Xujiahui Metro city. Interestingly when I went to Starbucks to try, there was a free network available! I still dont know how and why these free networks work. Sometimes they seem to disappear, as noted by other posters somewhere on this forum.

2. I paid RMb100 for the card. I ask for discount but they said cannot. Does anyone know if such cards can be bought cheaper, like IP cards.

3. Finally I also went to Sasha for free access. However I dont think the atmosphere there is suitable for working and drinks are overpriced (at least for a cybercafe).

Thanks!

Mellon
