If budget is not a primary issue, what are the best properties in town? Looking for a 4 bd rm place....What is the range of rent one can expect to pay in Shanghai?

There are properties all over the city with a wide range of facilities and services. Location and age will really determine the price. A few that have four bedrooms and are better include:

Chevalier Place
Ambassy Court
Xing Guo Garden
Joffre Garden
China Garden
Emerald Court
Shanghai Racquet Club
Kerry Center Residences
Westin Residences
Shanghai Centre
Shanghai Links
Central Residences
Shinmao Riveria
Tomson Golf Villa

There are many others. Some are apartments and others are townhouses or villas. The prices range from roughly USD3000 upwards to USD7000. Of course, other properties can be found for less and more. Some are in Pudong and others in Puxi.
