Post subject: HP Laptop Battery

The battery on my HP laptop is in the process of dying and I would like to get a new one. I have tried locally, but they do not seem to be interested in chasing one up for me.

What would be the best place in Shanghai to try to get one. We will be in Shanghai over the New year for a few days, and I would like to go hunting.

My model is ze4200, in particular ze4281. If I could get an address, I could contact with my actual battery part number.

Thanks

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all on the Shanghai Expat.

Go to Google and type in your model number, get a Chinese friend and have them explore the Chinese links. They do make them here in China. Just have to be creative to find out. Also try Alibaba.com.

There are basically two places with great concentration of notebook stores:

1)Hong Kong Plaza in Huang Pi Nan Lu subway line 1 station and 2)the computer mall (with the olympus globe on top) in Xijiahui, Xijiahui station of line 1.

In both cases you will need to have a reseller ordering the battery to you, which will most likely take some time to happen if they don't have a battery in stock. If this is the case, I would guess you would be probably better served by ordering it online from hp.

Last but not least, in case you are going to Hong Kong (the city, not the mall)in Mongkok computer mall you could easily find the battery you are looking for (I am assuming your model is a mainstream one and not a discontinued model).

There is a great old computer parts place near the Starbucks Saturday gathering. I go there often to find great deals on used stuff or hard to find parts. There are hundreds of stores. They even sell old boomboxes and VCRs!
