Post subject: Apple Ipod or Dell DJ?

I have been looking at buying an Apple Ipod and hear a lot of good stuff about them but then I also hear that they lock up often when connecting with windows computers. Also they are about $50 more than a comparable Dell DJ. I have been to Does anyone have any real life experience with either one of these?

i have an ipod for a year now, 10gig one and used it on a windows pc until last week without a problem ever... the only thing that bugged me in the beginning is, that you cannot change the battery inside the ipod. so i was afraid that once the battery does not last long enough any more, the ipod becomes useles... but now, one year later, I am still very happy, no problems with the battery either. Can't compare it to the Dell DJ though to be frank...

Don't know if it's available in China yet. I bought a Zen Micro over the holiday.(made by Creative a singpaorean co.) smaller even than the ipod mini, but has a larger hard drive(5gig vs. 4gig). it also supports WMA which doesn't work on the Ipod. This is a pretty big deal if u already have a lot of ur songs in that format. I recommend it.

p.s. it costs about $250 US

itunes can transfer wma files so that the ipod can read it. 250 is quite expensive for 5gb only....

Get the iPod Mini. You won't be disappointed. You can knab it here at any electronics store for 2150-2200 RMB. Don't pay anymore unless you actually enjoy getting scammed.
