| Post subject: Speak up, please! |
I use my laptop to listen to the radio. But this morning it suddenly became "speechless"! It's completely silence! I've done nothing. It's still good before I went to bed last night. Can anyone tell me what happens? What can I do to make it talk to me again? Thanks a lot.
ps. it's thinkpad x30, window xp professional. |

Try a hammer or bring it in to a Chinese technician, they both will yield the same results.
but seriously, did you accidentaly mute it somehow? A few keystrokes is all it takes... |

That's what I thought too, but no, it's not mute. |

so it's not mute as in you can still listen to cd's for example, meaning the audio in general is working ?
did you try other radio stations ? do they work ? |

Oh no, sorry, what I mean is that I did not mute it. The machine has no sound at all, not even the usual "music" when logging on window. |

go to
settings then control pannel then 'sounds and audio devices'.
there you can see :
if you did mute it
check volume
see if you drivers are still installed/recognized
...
tabs that interest you volume + audio + hardware. check em all.
the answer is here or the music boxes are **** up which would be very unlikely.
good luck |
