Post subject: Speak up, please!

I use my laptop to listen to the radio. But this morning it suddenly became "speechless"! It's completely silence! I've done nothing. It's still good before I went to bed last night. Can anyone tell me what happens? What can I do to make it talk to me again? Thanks a lot.

ps. it's thinkpad x30, window xp professional.

Try a hammer or bring it in to a Chinese technician, they both will yield the same results.

but seriously, did you accidentaly mute it somehow? A few keystrokes is all it takes...

That's what I thought too, but no, it's not mute.

so it's not mute as in you can still listen to cd's for example, meaning the audio in general is working ?
did you try other radio stations ? do they work ?

Oh no, sorry, what I mean is that I did not mute it. The machine has no sound at all, not even the usual "music" when logging on window.

go to

settings then control pannel then 'sounds and audio devices'.

there you can see :

if you did mute it
check volume
see if you drivers are still installed/recognized
...

tabs that interest you volume + audio + hardware. check em all.

the answer is here or the music boxes are **** up which would be very unlikely.

good luck
