sorry, good4kicks. SmallPox isn't an English teacher - she's the student who attends class to meet foreign teachers. |

good4dicks...now I know for sure that you are a complete idiot...not even half, but complete...Please please please don't ever try to profile again...you are sooooo way off it's not even funny...even the rest of the expat **** here know that I at least speak two languages (English and French) and that neither is my native language (cause depending who you ask, I come from India, Egypt or somewhere in North Africa). In fact, I speak 4 and soon to be 5 (mandarin of course) languages. So if only for the language part...please...think before you speak...And secondly, I have no idea why people trash the English teachers so much here. If anything, teaching English and travelling can be a great experience for anyone. It gives them the opportunity to meet people, make friends and learn about other countries. I am sure they do much more good than fvvvckers like you who were sent here against their will and who have no intention of doing anything positive with their stay in China. So sorry to disappoint you again, but I am not an English teacher, even though I would be extremely proud to be one...
As for your corporate governance bullllllshiiiiit about the US, it's just fvvvcking laughable. You cannot compare China and the US. They are not at the same place in hostory. They do not have the same government or even business systems. But do not tell me that corporate governance in the US does anything good. Crooks will be crooks, regardless of laws and regardless of geographic location. The shapes and forms of their crimes are different. But the essence is the same. Now you tell me which is better: a seriously low-paid Chinese worker who makes some extra cash by "being corrupt" as you put it? Or a US CEO milking his company to the bones and ruining the lives of countless hard working "normal" people? As for me, I cannot say which is worse, or which is better. They are just different types of fraud and "unethical behaviour". It is a shame that you cannot see past your blind western pride and arrogance and try to understand a new culture that is different from yours.
So again, to you, and all other expat fvvckers like you, I say....

Merdy, You may want to reconsider your approach. I don't think you make edgie and good4kicks suffer that much. On the contrary they seem to strive on this kind of garbage. |

woofie, will you get the FACT before you open your filthy mouth? Isn't that one of the merits to use toothpaste if you have bad breath?
So sorry I didn't atttend your classes, was afraid I'm going to be distracted by all the fat accumulated on you, which will not be a nice repay to the check, right? |

They ARE garbage ... just people needs to "fiddle" with them from time to time to make sure nothing usefull - explains why edgie is such a sticky "Sir Fiddler"-follower ... but we get to let Sir Fiddler take some day off right edgie?!

I don't think it's the Chinese culture. Such lack of respect exists everywhere. My friend in California was laid-off thru a FedEx envelope.
By the way, if you're an English teacher, why don't you capitalize properly in your writing? |

Guess it was meant ironically The PRC would be the last place on this planet that would pop up when you're talking about good manners or any social skills. |
It is true that overseas Chinese and returnees have the good manner you expect. So can we say they do better than mainlanders? Mabye not. There is really some cultural and traditional causes. Most Chinese believe that it is not respectful to tell you a bad decision (the cancellation) in face to face manner. In China and even in all the eastern Asia, your boss' manner (being indirect or implied) is much more common than what you expect and welcome by more people. You can dislike the indirect or implied manner, but needn't be pissed. Think, if the reason is that they dislike you or that you make mistakes or that they think you are not emplowable or that some students complain against you, etc, in which manner do you receive enough respect?
Even China politics also takes the same maaner. Do you hear "China secret politics", where edged politicians can come down with "face"(Mian Zi).
The fire reason they give you may not the real one. Politically the fire reason written on paper is never the truth!!! This is China.
Sometimes misunderstanding may be caused by difficult communication. You know, many Chinese may know a little English but cannot speak well. |

China boasts its population, dirrent people with defferent life and culture. So, to read china and understand China, never take it as a whole. What I can say is that probably the flock or the level of people you met are lack of good manner. But why? |

kickback is still an accetpable biz practice in CHina today, although zero-tolerance towards it in most western countries today. it's just a piece of the iceburg in china's problem.
better to drop that A too as I don't often to see people blame a lot...just suck it up and go on... Maybe it happens many more in China than anywhere else. Well, it's a very common problem in the world..what's the biggie of the DEAL? |
