Post subject: Blackberry service provider in Shanghai?

My office wants to get mobile digital and all that jazz and are impressed with the blackberries everyone seems to be getting in the home countries.

We are a small company with most operations in China, but with some in Australia, UK, & USA. Our people are very mobile and thought the Blackberries would do the trick, but I am worried that taking out service in the 'home countries' and using it mostly in China will be extra expensive.

Any ideas?

From what I understand you can't get a blackberry contract in CHina so all the cost would be based on roaming charges. I believe it works under GPRS which means you are only billed for when the data is being downloaded or uploaded but I think you are right that it will be very expensive.

There is no need to get a blackberry here anyway. You can get a local PDA and service contract that will do the job just as well.
