This forum came out right on time... damn... i was hoping to enter the new year with no outstanding debts/favours/problems owing. And yes... what do you mean by legit??? there is no such thing, technically satellites aren't allowed in China, but they turn a blind eye to attract foreigners... as long as majority don't have it.

Hmmmmm.... 400 RMB?? that seems a little steep... considering my entire setup cost only 3500 RMB (with dish and receiver)... Oh well... maybe its just New Year's pricing.

3500RMB? You got ripped my friend. They should be no more than RMB2000...

Dream satellite is a joke. They are obviously hurting for business.

SERIOUSLY

Why would anyone EVER want to buy from Dream? What selling points do they have?

1. Sell a pirated product for over 5 times the street price
2. Customer service is horrible
3. Rely on dishonest advertising

well my turn to wade into the fray and fruckass Razz for your info, satelllite cost me rmb1200 all up, the new chip cards cost me rmb100 per time. dream chnage their modulation codes every 6 months or so, so ppl who are newbies here don't panic... it will take several days to maybe a week or so, maybe even longer given that its the holiday period. after which all the suppliers will come on stream with the new cards.. hells bells ofcourse i miss all the usual channels, but what the heck now imforced out to go watch the spectacle tht is the chinese new year...
if anyone wants extra cards then i could perhaps take some orders, though you'd need to do cash up front -simply dont wanna end up with 10+ cards that become square coasters...if y'all get my meaning Razz
oh and for your info there are different prices depending on the subscription you want... the norm for the 52 channels is around rmb1800, incl setup, dish etc.
and yes its illegal to own or operate private satellite here, no matter the genuine subscription or pirated gear. which all come from the same equipment manufacturers...

Just arrived back in Shanghai and (as everyone else seems to have discovered) I need a new sat. card. My landlord, the good guy that he is, usually sorts this out for me but he is away for a few more days. Does anyone have a number to get a new card that they can pm me?

Thanks
