Post subject: Looking for a good pediatrician

Hello everyone,

Our family (including our 17 month old daughter) will be moving to Shanghai on March 5. Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician? Also, are there any moms groups, Waldorf or Montessori playgroups around? Thanks

Not knowing much about your situation, it's hard to recommend a good pediatrician (location, child-rearing philosophy, Chinese language ability, etc..). You can try the doctors at Worldlink Clinic - I especially like Dr. Kohlbacher, though they have a few pediatricians to chose from. It's expensive there, but I think it's quality care. Once you get here, you can search based on your specific criteria and get input from other moms to make a final selection. I think it's good to have Worldlink on file in case something comes up during the transistion. There is a lot of buzz about the new United Family Hospital and I have heard good things about the VIP Clinic at Fudan Children's Hospital (this is where you would go for an emergency). Those are alll in Puxi. Maybe someone else can chime in on some Pudong options...??

My son (6 years old) sees Dr Jenkins at World Link clinic. I find him to be very thorough and my son loves him!

Our 9 month old daughter has several health complications and we've found Dr Jenkins from WorldLink to be extremely knowledgable and helpful. He even came to check on our daughter at Fudan hospital on his day off after we spent the night there in an emergency. We see him at the Portman

I'm not sure whether he's at any other World Link clinics but we go to the one at Portman.
