hi,
I recently got a Z visa.
I just noticed it is valid for one year only and then I must renew.
Why do they give a Z visa for only one ear when my contract is for two years ?
Do they give Z visas for two years ?
The Z visa is also very expensive - 1400 RMB for Z visa and employment permit. D I need pay this again when I renew ?

Z-visa for one year? I 'm afraid you confuse Residence Permit with visa. Visa is for entry with generally three month period. Within 30 days after the entry, you may be required to apply for Residence Permit, which may have a term of 6 months, 1 year, 3 years or 5 years. |

No, the length of residence permit is renewed along with the length of Z visa. One year Z visa is standard and it can be renewed for 4 times at maximum, thus 5 yrs. It is very hard to get anything longer than one year Z visa unless you are some CEO of big MNC.
The renewal fee for Z visa will be a little bit cheaper. |

Rmb760.- for renewal z visa and work permit. don't remember how much did they charge me for renewal residence permit. not much, anyway.
cheaptickets was correct. persoanlly i have never heard or seen anyone who got a z visa longer than 1 year. guess none of my friends are big shots of big MNCs.  |
