Post subject: Is CHAT ever used?
Just curious.... is the Chat feature ever used on this site? Whenever I visit it, no one is there-- but me Rolling Eyes , that is!

Anyone interested in having a standing weekly chat session--- for those who can pop in at that time?

I feel the same way. I have logged into the chat room about three times just to be the only one there.

Post subject: Trying out a weekly chat time
Well, Macheco-- and others?-- how about suggesting a weekly time to try out for a couple of weeks and see if we can get a chat going.

I suggest Mondays at 2100 Shanghai time? Or suggest a more suitable time....

Another important point here is that whatever is written in a chat room dissapears after a while. Members like Edgewood and myself write for posterity, we make statements of historical value, to be exposed to the public and preserved even after our time has passed. Chat doesnt fit our purpose.

I agree with Edgie's comment, whatever can be done in real life is better done there. I chat with cute girls in Starbucks all the time. However I realize that some of you, such as Carrol, are physically wired to their PC (and TV, with cable) which makes meeting in real life a challenge.

Aw, French ... I never knew you were so keen to meet me ... I'm flattered. However, I'm far too busy on weekends to set aside time to 'chat' in Starbucks .. weekends are when the 'action' takes place, in my life, at least .. Smile

Post subject: Chat meet Wed. morning @ 1000

Online Chat is, of course, intended for those who can and want to be there.

For in person chat, I can't get a flight into Pudong airport right now-- so online chat suits me just fine. AND I do find that by exchanging verbal communication either in snail, e-mail, or chat, one can learn a lot about the character of a person.
(And there are some Rolling Eyes characters here! LOL)
