| Post subject: O2 HDA2s vs. XDA Mini: advice |
Need advice here.
Considering getting a smartphone and was originally tempted by the new XDA2, but I spotted the Mini and I must say that I am one of these people who go around empty-handed and ideally without much in my pockets.
I havent really seen them close or had in hands but from this post (http://www.shanghaiexpat.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-20208.phtml):
Chinaglory, I understand that you switched to the Mini after having used the XDA2 for about a year. How does it perform and what cant you do with it that was possible/much better/more convenient on the XDA2?
ktheong, you said regarding the Mini that "Set back is the Chinese software (monster) which has an inherent software bug that causes the PDA to hang after a while. I think this is the compatibility issue with Windows PPC OS."
Are you still having this problem? Do other people here have similar trouble? It's quite annoying as I would for sure be using a Chinese software like Monster (but wouldnt want to use a 100% Chinese version). Any other soft available works smoothly?
Any other issue, negative/positive comment?
Now, is it not TOO small to be used comfortably as a PDA?
Thx.

I have been looking into this too. I have friends in Hong Kong that have changed to the mini and give it great reviews. Also the press reviews that I have seen also rate it highly and basically say that it has the same functionality as the XDA. They also say that the size is fine for use as a PDA, which my friends confirmed. Don't have experience in using one however but based on friends comments I will be getting a mini when I get to Hong Kong in a few weeks. |

hammerforlife... good news... do you happen to know a good place in HK to buy it? Where did your friends get it? What's the price there now?

Good questions. I don't know a particular place but I have bought lots of similar stuff in HK before. I will contract my friends before I go as I know they have bought at least 5 or 6 of the things between them. If I find out more detail incl. price etc I will pm you. |
