Post subject: Graphic keyboard??

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a "graphic keyboard", sth on which we can draw and then see the work on the computer. Designers/architects may use it.

I'd like to buy it this week end -if the price is ok and offer it for a birthday.

Where can I buy this material ?

My bf can then use it for writing Chinese characters Smile

I need to find soon for his birthday.

Thanks
Sylvie

i think the thing you are looking for is called 'writing pad' for computers, especially chinese users. you should try your luck at any big IT product malls.

The Xing Da Lu Computer Centre, on Lao Shan Lu, by BaBaiBan, in Pudong has “Touch Pads”, made by Hanwang, a Chinese manufacturer. They are on the first floor, and have a large display. As the units come in various sizes there are several prices. Their website address is www.hw99.com

There are also Wacom tablets available in Puxi, their representative office is located:
WACOM China Corp. Shanghai Office
和康协创(北京)电脑技术有限公司上海办事处
Room 1102, CITIC Square, No. 1168 Nanjing Road (West), Shanghai, 200041 China
中国上海南京西路1168号中信泰富广场1102室, 200041
Tel: +86 (21) 51165868, Ext.: 212 Fax: +86 (21) 51165869

By calling, they can direct you to the nearest retailer in Puxi.

We have used both tablets, and prefer the Wacom, again, prices very with size, some being rather costly.

The Wacom products work very with all applications we use, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Photoshop etc, and the handwriting function, and adjustability of the pad, is excellent.

Also, the Wacom units have all information available in multiple languages via their website in the US.

In my opinion, Wacom is the better product, but more expensive.

One of my employees just bought one from the electronics market at Xujiahui for 50 RMB. It's some local brand. This is probably the cheapest you will be able to pick one up. I know they have more expensive ones there too.
