For example, those square Bell & Ross high end fakes, what is a good price for em? AAA quality?

Where is this Nanjing xi lu market located?

580 NanjingXi Lu About 1/2 way between NanjingXi Lu subway stop and Peoples Square subway stop.

Personally I think you will do better at the Science & Technology Museum shops for high end fakes.

How much should I bargain down to? around 100 rmb? or are best quality watches more than that?

That really depends if you are looking at the old style mechanical wind watches or the battery operated watches. For the battery operated anything in the rmb 60-80 range is good at S&T and for the mechanical winds high quality defined as crystal lens, not plastic, date function shown and working properly, pvd finish, good movement, figure on rmb 130-160 range. At NanjingXi Lu for the identical watches I only know one guy that knows me and will give me those kinds of prices on these watches as he know that I buy at S&T. All other vendors will not come down more than 2 to 3 times those prices on the higher end watches.

Went to Qipu lu and got a Tag Heur for 200 rmb. Within a week i had condensation issues, and by the end of the week the metal fastener broke completely. It's a write-off but not to bothered. Was quoted 1800 originally.

OK - i am very intrested in this too!! Im currently in the market for a watch as well and would really appreciate if someone shared this iwth me as well!!! Please?!

@miss tsips
Ok, I found sth... the customers there I met said their buying since 5 years and the shop has all quality levels (5) including the watches you can walk in the real store in. Barging impossible, has connections to a bag (with certificate) shop in an apartment upstairs. Takes you there if you want.

Go in the morning or evening and the owner gives u a lessen in how to make differences in fakes, also opens the watches for you if requested.

Adrs: Nanjing Xi Lu Market, Ground Floor, pass the elevator on the left side, first store on the right (opposite a cosmetic shop), ask for the good stuff and they take you to another store hidden behind perls.

Happy shopping!!!

Howdy - Here are my recent purchases at sci-tech:
1) "Oakley" polarized Sunglasses: 40RMB
2) "Diesel" "leather" shoes: 50RMB
3) Flashy men's "Silk" pajamas 55RMB
4) "Diesel" denim messenger/laptop bag 60RMB

Slighty off-topic:
I just got back from Xi'an and bought some tacky souveniers.
1)Set of 5 "medium" terra cotta warriors in a box - 8RMB. The "factory" my tour stopped at was offering for RMB450. One poor woman on the bus was daft enough to buy there. I felt sort of bad having paid 1.7% what she did for the same item.

I bring this up because - I wonder if maybe, just maybe - my prices from sci-tech are way too high. Sure, $7usd for a pair of shoes sounds good at first. But despite all the claims o the contary they are non-branded, plastic shoes. My local walmart in the states probably has something for a similar price.

Just curious if anyone has tried "hyper-bargaining"? Does anyone know what the vendors actually pay for items?

hi there,
I haven't been in a while at the fakes only for the simple reason that all that stuff doesn't last that much in the end. also a lot of original stuff you can find in europe during the discount season for just a bit more expensive than the fakes. Anyway last time i was in a fake i guess i bought:

short sleeves T-shirt, 3 pcs for RMB 25 each, two of them r ok 1 is so damn itchy.

I am a frequent buyer of watches though. Automatic some you can get also for 50 RMB (not the almost real RADO one though), but if they'r nice a 100 it's more than enough. The market of watches it's in Guangzhou and the quality it is much better there (also for clothes actually).
Good Chrono type Omega or others in shanghai never pay more than 180 RMB. Btw down in the south they give you a price kind of reasonable and than what you can get could be max 30 kuai less not the huge difference that makes u with a headache in the end of day when u get out of a sanheineee fake.

Anyone know of any good places to buy copy True Religions. Apparently the ones brought here from Hong Kong are much better and are of good quality. I know there are many places in S&T but i haven't had the chance to really go there. Any specific locations would be greatly appreciated!!

I saw on different markets Mulberry leather bags (rather big ones, one design similar to the big Hermes bag). Ithink they are really leather and seem a bit better thanfor example Hermes bag. Does anyone know prices? They start with extremely high prices (1500 RMB) and the usual pricerange like other bags didn't work out (150RMB). Did anyone uy these bags?

Real leather men shoes at the SSTM fake market: 300¥, down from 1500¥, husband bought one and got really impressed with the leather quality.
Don't bother to think that any medium sized bag bellow 500¥ is real leather, apart from one model that has stripped pieces of leather, which is quite cheap to do, and its a local brand.
There are 2 shops selling an "Armani" bag for 1200-900¥, the leather is real, good quality.
Also, if you come from JinXiu lu down the metro station corridor, there's a shop selling real leather bags, local brand Emma, very good quality and designs. I bought a red patent leather bag, huge, for 700¥, after bargaing from 1580¥.
Nowadays is so difficult to spot the differences between real and synthetic leather, because the fake ones even smell like leather ( its a kind of leather smell potion they put on it).

Depends on the material, length, fit, finish, how good a customer you are and how well you bargain. Lined, unlined? Cashmere, goose down, leather, fur, synthetic, etc. This is Shanghai and the only thing you can be sure is that whatever you pay, someone will have paid a lot more for the same item and others will have paid a lot less than you.
