| Post subject: How to change my X visa to an F visa? |
Hello,
i was student in Fudan but after the first semester i stopped, moved to Beijing where i should have got a job. I came to Beijing got the interview, everything was fine untill they suddently announced me that they couldnt employ me before 1 or 2 months My X visa will expire in 20 days so i need to find a solution asap. I call some agencies but they told me they cant change an X visa to smthg else. My girl friend who has moved with me is still student and found a new school here so no pb for her (her X visa) will be extended soon).
Do you know any agencies in Beijing that could change the X visa to an F one? or Should i go to HK for it? or living with my girl friend whom has a X visa i can also obtain an residence permit (we arent married).
Thanks in advance for your replies.

It may be possible to change it from outside of China. Make a HK visa run.
If the company is going to hire you in one or two months, wouldn't it be easier to ask them to start the Z visa extention paperwork? Worth asking... you never know! Then you wouldn't have to do anything since you already have the working and residence permit and the X visa. The process should take no more than a week or so. Worse argument I can imagine is that they wouldn't want to pay for the extention until you are working for them and you can just offer to do so and be reimbursed after employment begins. |

HK's great. take the train. it's cheap, the beds are comfy and the food is reasonable. they'll keep the bar open as long as your ordering so you can rally some other westerners to pass the time. it's about 1000 RMB round trip (though you have to book the return in HK.) |
