Post subject: How do I dial a Shanghai mobile phone from the US

From the U.S. I'm trying to call a mobile number in Shanghai. On the business card it is listed without the 8621 prefix. I've tried w/ and w/o that prefix, using only the 011 to no avail.

Could someone tell me how one should dial a Shanghai mobile phone from a (regular, non-mobile) phone in the U.S.?

Thanks very much.

pretty simple, all you need to dial is 86+mobile phone number here in china. that should work! e.g. 86-136........ mobile phone numbers in china have 11 digits.

you need to dial 86 and then the cell phone number directly , usually 13x xxx xxxxx format, no area code 21 for shanghai

Fantastic, you guys. Thanks-- we have lift-off! Our call has gone through. It is easier than it seemed!
Have a great day.
