Shocking, melting, funny or nothing?
- Picturing China
China boasts a large population with different people, different life and different culture. The difference is unbelievably large. If you stay in Shanghai, to lear China, you have to learn the other side of China because what you see here is not the real China.
For this reason, I start this thread by posting the pictures here. Of course you are encouraged to post your own.

Why don't you email that to your government and advise them not to waste any more money on useless projects like the Maglev and all the other white elephants in this country that serve as evidence of leaders with small dicks? |

"Mum, I 've been waiting here for 20 years. It's not your default. I know you have no money to come here."
After 20 years, the mother can afford for the journey to see her son, the only child, who lost his life during the war with Vietnam and buried there.

Each time I see this picture, I get in tears. |

Mods, I've been wanting to post some pics and I keep being told that the maximum filesize is exceeded. I get that even in another thread. What gives? |

zhw7, good post & kind motive!
Have seen some of the above pictures before but still feel uneasy when have a look at this kind of on-the-spot pictures again.
When Hu jing tao is so proud of the fast growing speed of GDP in China, are there any chances for him to think about. what the people really need? If only he could reduce 10% corruption in this country and spend the money on the right people, it is most likely that we wont have to check these pictures out. |

Good4kicks, it's not about making China look like a victim, it's just plain and hardcore reality. Like you said, the government fuks it up for people on the pictures shown above. It's good to make remarks like those, but it annoys me when you doubt zhw7's motive for posting pics like these. Can't you just stay out of it for once? Let him/her post it, I 'enjoy' looking at them. |

Alright, my bad, but I do think it's a good topic because it's good to see the downside of all the 'beauty' in China. You've made a good point about the government investing in crappy projects and wasting money. Point made, un-zero pour toi, it's clear to us ok.
I recall that you've been to Brazil, correct? There's a big contrast there as well, skyscrapers and favallas. Same in Kuala Lumpur, and other cities I've and you've been to probably. So it's good to point out to ignorant people who think it's all good, that there is indeed a lot to be improved. |

G4K, you expats consider anything that shows the gloomy sides of China as trying to make China look like a victim.
Cannot believe a person who claimed that he has been to a lot of developing countries is so narrow-minded!!! |
