| Post subject: Looking for other expats to meet |
Hi, I'm a 24 year old American girl who just moved to Shanghai. I'm living in Pudong, and have yet to meet an English-speaking expat and don't even know where to begin to look for one. I am not interested in intimate relationships, just a fun casual partner in crime so to speak. I love all sports, especially soccer and tennis, love traveling, learning languages, reading, going to cafes, eating out, and meeting people with a great sense of humor who are adventurous. Please let me know the best way to meet people in this vast city. My email is LLF1980@aol.com
thanks |

Hey there, and welcome to Shanghai!
A couple of easy ways to meet people include the Saturday morning coffee meeting, the Tuesday night dinners (though it's on Monday this week!) and the Wednesday night mixer at Spy Bar.
The coffee meeting is at the Starbucks on HuaiHai Lu/Shaanxi Nan Lu, and is usually followed by a lunch. There's a thread about it in the
"Announcements and Events" forum.
The Tuesday night dinners are generally organised by Bullitt, who posts a thread in the "Open Chat" forum on the preceding Friday or Monday.
The Wednesday night Mixer thread is in "Announcements and Events" as well, I believe.
On top of that, there are many chances to meet people as they post plans and invites throughout the week. These three are a good way to start, though! Hope to see you there.
Cheers! |
