Post subject: Best country you've ever lived in: Australia?

Ok. Fine. Let's be more specific now.

Melbourne or Sydney?
Why?

Please answer only if you have a 6 figures Euros package available for me there to support your praises. Rolling Eyes

The lifestyle is pretty easy down there. I didn't live in Sydney or Melbourne but I know both cities well.

Personally you will find quite a difference between the two cities. I prefer Sydney for its natural beauty and it tends to be more cosmopolitan.

As well, Sydney wins the competition between the two cities for world's most ugly casinos. And since I hate casinos I have to like Sydney knowing I would never step foot in that guady place again.

Neither. Perth is far and away the best city in Australia. Even better, is not being in a city, in which case the south-west of WA rocks my personal casbah.

Sydney is a sh*&hole. Melbourne by far the most "liveable" city. Sydney good to visit, but don't stay there for more than a few hours. Seen the Opera house, Seen the Bridge.. That's it. off to Melbourne.

Cornsy!! You lived in bloody Adelaide. More people live in my apartment building here than there was in Adelaide.

Agreed on the Sydney Casino. I think the design competition was won by the son of the person judging it.

The number was small because there are only so many people in Australia with any class.

Melbourne is great if you like these things:

1. Aussie rules football and meat pies
2. Going to a casino every weekend
3. Greek food, and greek landlords
4. Not getting laid.

Sydney is great if you like these things:
1. Rugby and fine fusion cusine
2. Stunning beaches and beautiful surrounding nature and surfing on the weekends
2. Many types of cusine and ancestors of convicts for landlords
3. Extremely hot women that you will never have sex with

Adelaide is great if you like these things:
1. Barracking for AFL team in the Championship every year
2. Relaxing in a park or maybe the beach on your weekend...and going to church on sunday.
3. 5 star food, chicken shops, kabab shops, pub meals and owning your own house straight out of university
4. The hottest women in Australia and getting laid every weekend. All the men in Adelaide move to Sydney or Melb for work and leave all these stunning babes with nothing to do (oh gawd I miss it).

Darwin is great if you like this thing:
1. Fishing and sweating your bag off

Perth is great if you like these things:
1. Who knows, who the hell ever goes to PErth.
2. Fuking hot weather.

On the other hand Melbourne sounds scary now

Melbournes cool, you've got the St.Kilda festival, the Big Day Out, Grand Prix, and The Great Ocean Road not too far away. I'm really starting to like Brisbane now, surfing, great beaches, brightly coloured parrots everywhere and the people there tend to be less materialistic.

The thing that kind of gets me in Australia, is the friendliness, sometimes I want to walk into a shop, buy a newspaper and a can of coke, and not have someone asking me, how I am, hows my day, hows it going, oh I always buy that one too...sometimes I'm just not in the mood for idle chit chat, but maybe thats the Britishness/privacy thing in me. Other then that, yes Melbourne, Brisbane and Nimbin are my favourite cities/towns in Oz. Never been to Perth, but all my family used to live there, so I guess it must be good.

^ I rest my case hahahaha.

Driz you should try Adelaide then (if you can handle the boredom), people aren't as friendly there as Melb or Syd. Adelaide even has those laroqueets (sp) that look like parrots flying around everywhere.

One thing I don't miss about Australia is those flies. I was watching this documentary last night and one part was on Uluru and all I could think was....oh man....show the flies, show the flies!!!!

mmmmm... flies. Nothing better than one flying in your mouth, as you are about to suck the top of a stubby of Boags on a Sunday afternoon BBQ.....

Is Boags your boyfriend....i saw more than enough men sucking the top of Boags at that Mardi Gras parade in Sydney.

I didn't know it was an afternoon event out front the BBQ in Melb.

That's the other thing I forgot to mention about Melb....the men are all fags.

^^how did you find out that piece of information??

Boags is if not the best beer ever brewed, it is a close second to Leffe Blond, which I just added to my beer list. had to sample one just before to make sure it was cold enough
