| Post subject: Newbie question: depositing a US check in Shanghai? |
Sorry if this is common knowledge...
I've got some checks made out to my name from the USA, and written in USD. I didn't have a chance to cash them before I came out here to SH about 2 weeks ago, and I am wondering if I can somehow deposit them here?
I've got a Bank of America account in the states, and a Bank of China account that can accept both USD and RMB.
Can I either:
1. deposit the checks into my Bank of America account at their Shanghai branch office (does BofA even handle personal transactions here?)
OR
2. deposit the checks into my Bank of China account as USD?
Thanks for any help! |

don't know about option 1, but you can definetly deposit your us check into BOC. They ususally will hold it for a period of time, in citic bank, it's 40 days, before your can cash it. |
