I would just like to mention how pleased I was to read Fergus McCann’s comments on Wednesday’s Tictalk. It is good to see that Fergus is still in touch with Celtic-related issues and clearly still has a passion for the club. Good on you Fergus, I hope life is treating you well!

What is wrong with Celtic people? Can you not take five minutes to support the team on?

(Pete, you left out the www last week). Aberdeen are 11,000 votes ahead of us. Read that again 11,000. Do they have a better Internet service up there or, heaven forbid, are they more passionate than us. Get voting folks; after all, you could win £10k for yourself never mind the £250000 for the club

The Celtic View article about Celtic's hospitality to the 40 asylum seekers and refugees is to be welcomed and reminded me of having a dinner with an Afghan asylum seeker about four years ago. Celtic were playing Dundee and the game was live on television. The Afghan, Hamidai his name is, remarked in broken English that 'his village was all Celtic'. I visualised a small village somewhere outside Kabul with a lot of people running about with Celtic tops, playing football etc. I asked him where is your village?
Royston! He replied. Enough said. As somebody of Irish descent in Scotland, I think that it’s important that we give the asylum seekers and refugees the welcome that we would have liked our parents to receive when landing in Scotland. I recall my late father recalling that as a native Irish speaker he used various devices when learning English, shop window signs, newspapers etc. reading about Celtic perhaps. Celtic with their great traditions should be at the forefront of welcoming immigrants from abroad. Not only is it right but it also defuses elements within society who would seek to make asylum seekers and refugees unwelcome, which unfortunately for many Irish people was the case. Basically what I’m saying is that we of Irish descent should seek to give a warm welcome to immigrants which was perhaps denied our parents and grandparents.

The New York St Patrick’s Day parade was one of the best. The Bhoys and Ghirls were in great singing voice marching up 5th. Avenue. The big moment came when Pat Keane was interview by Tommy Smyth on NBC TV for all the world to see. Tommy was presented with a Celtic top by Pat Keane all this on 5th. Avenue, I would like to thank all the wonderful fans from all over the world who came to take part in the big parade it was a day to remember "There are no fans in the world like us" roll on next year.
Yours in Celtic

Dear Martin,
Please try and get Craig Bellamy signed up for Celtic ASAP.
He is our replacement for Henrik Larsson; and if you remember, Celtic got Henrik for a song, and look at the wonderful service he gave to the club.
Celtic has found a replacement in Craig Bellamy, however this time a proper transfer fee is required, surely this is fair enough, Celtic cannot rely on getting bargains, hoping to unveil a prodigious talent along the way. I know that I am speaking to the converted here Martin, so please, on all our behalf, go to the Celtic treasurers and make your case; Craig will cost a lot more in a few months if he continues to play as he is doing just now, so Celtic should make their move yesterday. Craig Bellamy has the potential to be as good as Henrik, obviously in his own inimitable way.
Opportunities like Craig do not come Celtic's way very often; it should be grasped with both hands!!
Cheers Martin, keep up the wonderful work,
James Molloy.
Hail hail
I have been critical of Rab Douglas but I have just seen the save that may retain the flag. I APOLOGISE. As for Craig well the board must do everything to retain him at the end of the season. His work rate is first class and his commitment is second to none.

Just watched the Dundee United game and yet ANOTHER stunning performance by Craig Bellamy, he was involved in everything and scored 3 terrific goals. But needless to say, I just wonder what the newspapers can find to slander him about now, this should be good! Keep Up The Good Work BHOYS! The Championship's Coming Home!
Chris, Livi
What a display from the Bhoys, Bellers was immense and a big thanks to big Rab. Would all you so called Celtic fans moaning in papers and radio, don’t you realise most stories in papers are not true just lies to stir things up. The latest being about not being able to afford Bellers and the board are getting flak. I am 100% sure he’ll be a Bhoy for a few years yet, at the moment we are flying, top of league and have a very confident squad with excellent reserves. Martin for Man City - what a laugh. If we can get another quality player in the summer, feel confident for good run in Europe, so if any one wants to phone papers and radio [do it myself] be positive not negative the media do that enough

Hi All!
Can I just say that Rab Douglas has proved the doubters wrong YET AGAIN!!!
Everyone has a bad game at some point but it is how well you bounce back. He was outstanding today and good on him...Hail Hail

Brilliant result on Saturday against Dundee Utd. Just wanted to know if anybody knew why Bellamy cuts off his shirt collars and his shirtsleeves??? Jim Barr, Perth, Australia
Well, what has become clear is that we need to find six million for Bellers!!! What a hat trick and one the king of kings would have been proud of. It was a great game to watch and a great advertisement for the SPL. It also showed we have what it takes to dig deep when all is not going our way. We played well; it’s just so did Dundee Utd! All credit to them for giving us a game. Big Rab's save in the dying seconds was superb. I have to admit I was raging with big Rab after the Rangers game but his form in the last few games has been great, all with the three saves he pulled off yesterday. The team seems to be gathering a good vein of form so hopefully when the time comes for us to go to Ibrox, well, as wee Bellers says "you'll just have to watch me at Ibrox"....says it all really.
I for one can’t wait, as it should be some game. Also I am a season ticket holder and I would like to say that the stick Thommo is getting is way out of line. I listened to a phone in on radio and the stick was unreal. Have they forgot what the guy has done? How many times was he the difference between us and Rangers? The guy’s class and all players go through patches. So come on Hoops fans don’t be so quick to slag him. hail

Here at Celtic, we share a common problem with many clubs, our weekly wage bills are so large that our disposable funds are almost non-existent when we look to finance moves in the transfer market. To acquire good quality players on a long term basis, requires not only money to finance any transfers, but also a budget which will include enough money to pay wages for the duration of a players stay.
At this moment it is clear that we do not have this money readily available, and this is where I believe that Celtic supporters worldwide can help. Every week I pay donations to a couple of charities directly from my weekly wage. Why can this not be done at Celtic Park, in a similar fashion? Supporters sign up for a yearly period, and have a minimum of £1 each week, transferred to Celtic Football Club. This money will be collected and used to fund the wages of newly acquired or possible signing targets. Celtic has a huge worldwide fan base, so possibilities are astounding. 100 000 subscribers would give Celtic an additional income of £100 000 per week, freeing money already used to pay wages, giving us greater flexibility where the signing of new talent is concerned. Investors would be entered into weekly or monthly draws for special prizes etc.
£1 per week would be a small amount for a true fan to pay, but the combined financial benefits to Celtic FC could be tremendous. So could someone with the expertise and relevant experience at Celtic, consider this idea and prove that it could work. If so, let myself and millions of Celtic supporters worldwide, help give Celtic a new cutting edge financially. If we would be willing to pay players’ wages, match our investment and Celtic FC sign the players we need.
Let me help pay Bellamy's wages for the next 4 years, and let Craig Bellamy and any others to follow, help Celtic move onto the next step in their European development.
John, Lanarkshire.
Is there anyone out there that can suggest a bar or restaurant I could watch
the Livingston and Aberdeen games in April in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia USA.
If so could you please reply to rsperfect2003@yahoo.co.uk
I would like to congratulate Rab Douglas for the save of the season against a very stubborn Dundee Utd side. Yes Craig Bellamy was man of the match but that save could have won Celtic the league as the margin of winning the title this season will be decided by either a moment of madness or an individual piece of brilliance.
I never had confidence in Rab at crossed balls but when it comes to shot stopping Rab is one of the best. I remember a couple of seasons ago Rab pulled of his best save ever when Celtic played Dundee at Dens Park and again it was a free kick which was hit low down to Rab's right hand post and at the time I thought that was one of the best saves I had ever seen until Saturday afternoon.
Hopefully that save will catapult Celtic on to greater things and we can go on to win the double with big Rab playing a crucial part in what has been a rollercoaster season.
Keep the faith.

Well I must say that our boys are playing great as of late. But I didn't decide to send this email to talk about how well they are doing. I'm witting this just to say that I love what Celtic stands for as a whole. I mean in my eyes, they stand for good sportsmanship, equality and the love of the game. I know you are probably thinking oh look at this little yank, she thinks she knows what Celtic stands for. I am a yank and proud of it but I'm also Irish and Scottish, as well as a few other things that I'm also very proud to be. I'm just as much of a supporter as the rest of you. The point of what I'm saying is that I wish that all these other people in the world would look at Celtic and take after them in acceptance of anybody and everybody. I hope that someday people will realize how ignorant all this hatred is. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to our boys for showing the world what a good and accepting heart and soul can do for the world. Play on boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Celtic board have to do whatever is possible to keep Craig Bellamy at the club permanently
The guy is a breath of fresh air and a real class act. With him in the team it would give us a better chance in Europe, especially with his pace up front something we have always lacked. Just watching him against Dundee Utd brought back the memories of the Great Henrik Larsson.
Pity we couldn’t have the both of them
Anyway surely a team Celtics size and with the Nike money as well as Juninho leaving at the summer should make a deal possible. The player himself is clearly enjoying life at this great club. If they sign him permanent and I hope they do, then I think a fitting gesture would be to give him the NUMBER 7 SHIRT. Another player I think would b class would be Duala the left-winger from Sporting he has great pace also. Pacy attackers for hitting on the break

Congratulations on a hard fought win over win over Dundee United on Saturday. These are the tough games, great teams must win.
I think congratulations are in order for Messer’s Bellamy and Douglas.
From a personal point of view, the hat trick was three of the most memorable goals I think I have ever seen. The save that big Rab made in the final minutes of the game was simply a magnificent game winning save, also one of the best I have seen in a long time.
To both these gentlemen, the entire team and management staff, thank you for a memorable game.
PS. It made the St. Patrick dance at the ACSC club that night even more enjoyable.
Davie Gebbie, Newmarket, Ont Canada.
I think we have the making of the next Henrik (GOD) Larsson at Celtic I know its a bit to soon to say this but we all have to dream can't we? All MON has to do now is hope that he can get the funding that all of us Celtic supporters hope for to keep Bellamy at Paradise.
Hail Hail

My son John Dailly suffers with Autism. Recently I took him to his first ever Celtic game v Dundee Utd at Tannadice Park 19/3/05. I had mixed feelings about taking him along, as I didn’t know how he would react to the crowd. To my joy he loved it. He really loves the Bhoys. After the final whistle he was overjoyed and really excited about going to his first match. He is nine years old & loves Chris Sutton. Hopefully next stop Celtic Park. Thank God for Celtic Football Club.
Yours Sincerely
Ged Dailly, Dundee |
