Post subject: good mobile phones

I have had several different brands of mobile phones here, and none of them get decent reception inside places, such as my apartment, certain stores, etc. Can anyone recommend the best phone for this? I am sure there are some types better than others.

I have had Haier and several different panasonic. Most people I know seem to cary Nokia. Are those better?

I've personally found that Sony Ericsson has consistently excellent phones (also, Panasonic, some Nokia, and most of the international brands).

However, your reception problem may be due to your carrier, and not to your phone. This sounds likely in your case, as you've changed phones but still experienced the same problem. In that vein, I've found China Unicom to have terrible service (won't work in stores, metro, apartments), while China Mobile is considerably better. Perhaps switching providers would help? Just a thought.

Yups, Nokia much better....always have used them.
Tried Siemens once...not bad, but not as good as Nokia.

nokia and ericsson are def worth the effort, but just remember that most electronics made here are for the domestic market and therefore the quality is not the same as those products made exclusively for export. also something else you should consider is that just perhaps that where yur apartemtn is located and situated is a blackspot, with a drop out in coverage no matter what brand mobile you use. also no matter if its china telecom, china unicom or whomsoever, its all china telecom anyway. its normal almost everywhere in the world that sometimes continuity of service may drop out from time to time... esp as any one cellsite reaches capacity and your signal is 'switched' between one cellsite to another and so on... in other words its far too simple to say its the fault of a given cellphone when there are so many factors to consider.

I've used Nokia, Siemens and Sony Ericsson so far.. And I like S-E the best..

But Caesara is right.. the reception relates to the carrier.. i don't think it has much to do with the phone.. when i was living in my old apartment.. my phone didn't get much reception until i moved to the new place.
