The right column in some of the channels (such as events or healthy living) still listing OLD information and link are still old too so they go to an eror page. |

I am noticing that the little symbols to the left of thread titles that tell you if a new post has been made (they used to be orange with a new post and blue if no new posts) are not working the way they used to. Kind of a random thing happening now, some new posts are not blue. Plus, the name of the thread will sometimes be orange and othertimes blue... I thought maybe that was the new trigger to tell you there was a new post to the thread, but then they seem kind of random too...
Sorry if this doesn't make any sense... can explain it better if you would like... |

Before I could see most avatars. Now I cannot see most avatars.
I can now see some of the avators I could not see before. But not all of the avators I could see before have gone.
The could/could not state of individual avatars was stable before. Now it seems that I can see some avatars some times and cannot see most avatars most of the time.
Yes, I know, seems a bit confusing. I can draw you a picture if you like ... |

Overall the web site seems quite a bit faster, though. |

I did the MDPro thing but the avatar doesnt appear. Instead the "X" box got bigger, thats all. When I do to the profile screen and try to upload a new avatar, it says "upload failed".
I think your server clock is 1 hour behind.
Otherwise no major problems. Good luck. |

For AVATARS - go to the profile at the top of the forum, click profile and choose resynch with mdpro profile... it will use your mdpro site avatar ( they are integrated in this release). If you do not have an avatar in your mdpro profile.. you can choose one of the ones available. We are working out the issues to use personal avatars now.. |

Well, I think this is not a problem but some kind inconvenient. I prefer openning at the same time many pages with different threads and then read and close one by one. So I have one part on the bottom banner with all Internet pages that appear vertically, and I can choose the page to go. Before on those pages names of the threads were written but now on all of them there is the same title which is a path "Shanghai Expat-Living and working in Shanghai-Microsoft Internet Explorer". And I have to look all of the pages to find which one I wanted to read first.
Do not know thou where it is easy to correct.
I prefer this new version. It looks more say clean and better arranged. Good job! |

And another thing, I can see both of my avatars which are different for forums and just surfing on the site, though you said it is merged. |

very annoying bug, each time I browse this website i use the "viewposts since last visit" option but these days with the new version each time i try to get to the second page of results it says something like "no posts meet your criteria" and this is very very annoying since I don't like to browse topics by going through each forum.
And what's even more annoying is when i check my PMs and then use the fonction mentionned above it says that there are no new messages since last visit. |

if you go to the main forum page (http://www.shanghaiexpat.com/MDForum.phtml), and look near the top right of the page, there's a link that says "View posts since last visit". or you can just bookmark this link: http://www.shanghaiexpat.com/MDForum-search-search_id-newposts.phtml.
I used to the the "no posts meet your criteria" problem, but not for a long time. I think it happens when too much time passes in between viewing the new posts, and then clicking on the next page. perhaps after you load the first new posts page, open up the next results page first, before going on to open up the threads themeselves? worth a try. |

Got the same message after posting this reply, so I guess the PM receiver received many PM's by now... |

Seems that things keep refreshing... if you open a forum or a thread, it will suddenly re-fresh without prompting. Been doing it since the new site was launched, but have noticed an overall increase in the number of times it happens today. |

ok now it s getting really really annoying, the tip jenming gave me worked for a while but not anymore, michael are you doing smthg about this or you just don't care ??
Am I the only one here using this option or what ????
I know that I'm not like some of u guys a heavy poster but I browse this website daily (when bored at work or when I need help on smthg), and this option saves me a great deal of time. |

I think the problem is that everytime you enter the forum it updates the time since last visit. I have not been available to work on the site over the holiday, but will try to come up with an alternative in the next week or so.
Also, if you come across threads that you want to watch, you can start adding them to your watched forum and watched topics and this should help a bit. |
