Post subject: Accessing the Internet using a wi-fi card

I have a wi-fi card on my laptop using XP. I finally found the tian-y-tong card but I always get file not found error when I try to log on to the Internet in a coffee shop that offers free or paid for wireless access. My wi-fi card picks up CTC wireless networks. What am I doing wrong? What settings should I activate?

Try to see if you have turned on using a proxy server in your IE. Turn it off and try opening a website again ( better if you close all IE and reopen a new one).

If this does not work, try typing 'cmd' in your 'Run' dialog and then input 'ipconfig' in the black DOS window. If the IP address starts with 165.xxx.xxx.xxx, probably the original procedure of the server side that automatically gives you an IP has failed. You might want to open up your wireless connection properties and try 'Repair'.

I'll stop here and you can give it a try again.
( I tried some wireless connection provided by ISP in GZ, but I have no experience in using the Tian-Yi-Tong in SH)
