There's definitely enough interest to justify renting and place and that will guarantee more playing time for all of us. Hopefully someone who speaks Mandarin well and knows of some places can work on it and post an update.
I caught some bug and may not make it tomorrow. |

I don't think I can make it... I tweaked my hip a couple of days ago, and I don't want to make it worse. Hopefully next time it will be better!

Tonight only henry_chinasky and I showed up but nonetheless it was fun. I got there first so I just made a team with a couple locals. We went undefeated for a while and it was a great time. I suggest any of you ballers out there come next week. Or if anyone wants to go before, PM me and we can arrange to meet since I'll be going quite often. |

I guess you guys were first defeated when I joined the team  Sorry for that man.
Anyway, it was pretty good.
The guys playing there are a bit more mature than elsewhere: you can play physical with them and they will not take it personally.
See you there next week Pizarro. Or even before, if there is anyone willing to join... |

No worries Henry. It was not your fault, we were just tired and due for a loss to a rested team anyway. We won our other games with you no? And you did a good job guarding the Yao Ming-like guy.

Thanks guys for the update. You guys wouldn't have wanted to around the way I was feeling but I'm starting to recover.
Pizarro, any chance you can play during the day at all? Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays I have a pretty good schedule during the day. |

My schedule is very flexible so just let me know when you wanna meet and I'll see you there. I would actually prefer to play during the day because at night the lights can anoy your vision.

From my taxi, I noticed that there is a small park with basketball courts on the right side of lower Ya an Road right before you enter the tunnel (Ya an tunnel?) to go to Pudong. They looked like good courts. Anyone know this park and the intersection? |

hey guys,
i am sorry to have not notice the vast progress in this thread till tonight, i saw this thread at 545pm and started my way down immeditely to XuJiaHui garden baeketball court. I met sagro, a canadian student (if i remember correctly) and a few other locals. they are cool people, but really, it can get crowded sometimes
anyway, it was a fun game, and a big challenge to play against 2 x 6foot plus shanghainese. i must have been rusting for a long time...did not contribute much =P
but hey, lets do it again! any other venus suggestions? |

Sagro? Do you mean Pizarro? Because I think I was the only Canadian playing with you lol
Anyway, good game. We are going to play on Saturday at 1:00PM so I'll play for a bit before heading over to the coffee meeting.

I was there. I got there at about 9:00pm. I only saw locals but figured you were somewhere I couldn't see you. I got in a game at about 9:05 and played until the lights went out. It was pretty fun but I've learned I'm not a young man anymore. It was good to get back in it though. I think I'll go there during the day to shoot around and play some games if there are any during the day just to get back in some kind of shape. If anyone wants to join me, PM me and we can arrange a time to meet. Sorry I got there so late but as far as Wednesday nights go, I'm coming from Pudong so that's the way it's always going to be for me. Hope to see you guys next time. |

I've been getting home after 7pm most nights, haven't had the chance to walk by the bamboo/portman JingAn sports hall.
I think there's a sports centre above StarGym on Jiangning Lu. I'll see if there's a b'ball court for hire next time I'm by that way. |

What is this bamboo/portman JingAn Sports hall? indoor court? or the outdoor court that is free (it is demolished by now)
i stay very near there, let me know where it is because i have never seen anything like what you describe when i pass by there. if i can, i will go check it out |
