hi all,
I pass by Portman's yesterday but could not find the indoor court near it. I do see a very old building with words "Jing An Sports Hall" on it and it look like a ghost town, door locked. The sports hall at Jiang Ning Lu, Kang Ding Lu do not have a indoor court. |

hey rolento...
I had a look at the hall Friday night at around 6pm. It was shut tighter than a nun's nasty. Couldn't see any other info about contacting the managers of the hall either.
I saw another post about 5 a side football (soccer) this week. One of the guys said they had an indoor hall out in Pudong...

"tighter than a nun's nasty"
Now there is an image. Anyway, this Wednesday who will come? I'm going a lot more often than just Wednesdays. You guys should try playing with the locals... they are quite friendly for the most part. Just expect to be handled a bit tighter since no local wants to get shown up by a lao wai.
Then again if you are good, you'll make a lot of friends who want you to play on their team. Hey it's basketball right? Xujahui is a good place to ball. |

I should be going this wednesday, also may have 2-3 more american friends joining me. they are keen.
however, i think we should explore booking an indoor court as an option, Crikey: whereabout is the indoor court in Pudong? it could be worthwhile if it is not that far into the east. |

Can the Jiangning Sports Centre court be hired? It is fine at the moment, a few weeks down the track though..?
i pm'd the footy player in the previous post. no reply as of yet... The indoor court is somewhere near the Jin Qiao Carrefour - I have now looked at my map of Shanghai, and like my avatar, its near the black stump...
I can't make weeknights, sorry guys. had to work all last w'kend too. Should be free this weekend. Any time planned for Sat or Sunday? |

There are some basketball courts just outside HongKou football stadium right on the metro. If they happen to be full, there is a university nearby that always has a few open courts. You know I am down. |

My apartment block has a private basketball court. It's outdoor, the surface is good, and there are excellent lights for night-time play. Some friends and I will play tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 pm and again this Saturday at 7 pm. Anyone from the website is welcome to join us.
The court is right next to the Xinzha Lu subway stop (line 1, one stop north of People's Square), so it's very easy to get to. If you'd like to come, PM me to coordinate. |

hey Monk,
I stay near there. I think would be helpful if you can give us the full address and the 2 road that meets at your place. i am sure i can find my way there, although i am still quite tired from today's game. |

We're still playing tonight at 7 and Saturday at 7. Anyone who wants to come should PM me and I'll send you my mobile number.
The court is right next to the Xinzha Lu subway stop but it's hard to actually get to it. The easiest way to find us is to come out of the subway stop, walk down Xinzha Road to Xinchang Road (there is a map of the area inside the subway stop to help you), and look for a single residential high-rise building (not a whole block, just one building). Turn down Xinchang Road and pass the high-rise's entrance. Just past that you will see a lighted basketball court behind a fence. Just shout for us and one of us will tell you how to get in.
We'll have a ball, no need to bring one unless yours is really deluxe. |

Damn it was a good dame. Body sore as if a truck ran over it. Pretty good court and very dynamic game. Very good stuff.
Better than playing at XiJiaHui where it's too much crowded and the basketball IQ is lower. Today we had a lot of teamwork, screens, threes, nice blocks, not the usual chaotic street ball. Very good stuff monk, thanks for sharing it up. |

We're switching to Sunday night at 7 from now on, in order to not interfere with people's social lives. So for now, assume we'll be playing every Thurs and Sun at 7, but PM me to confirm if you're coming for the first time. Thanks! |
