Post subject: pcmcia cardbus firewire card

I want to import DV video into my XP laptop so I bought a cardbus pcmcia fireware card. I tried to plug it in but it wants drivers. I've searched the Internt and the XP CD, I tried finding them but nothing seems to work and the CD that comes with it is just an app for ULEAD video editing software. Help this is very irritating. I tried getting it to work 6 months ago and gave up til now.

Windows XP will detect fireware card automatically, there are 3 conditions that can cause ur problem.
1. ur windows system got problems--------------------reinstall the windows
2. ur fireware card defective-----------------go shop to ask for change another one
3. ur DV need drivers----------------find and install ur DV drivers

u can try to plug ur fireware card into ur computer first, to confirm is ur DV need driver or not
