The military uses it to produce bullet proof clothing which bis very light yet extremely strong.
The technology sector use it in computer applications, where simple structures can transfer information and technology.
This material which is 'smart" so to speak and can be program to fix itself for example.
Wow, when is the public going to know about it ? |

Its still very much in its infancy. Take a look at the Age of Spiritual Machines by Kurweil. He outlined 3 major technological revolutions that will radically change every thing on this planet. The first we are in the middle of - computers --- the second we are just starting to grasp - biotech -- the third we have in concept but in research stages -- nanotech. Being human will require a whole new set of definitions in the next 30 years as these technologies come together. Whatever is being done on nanotech right now, are just toys. For a good sci-fi on the implications read Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson. |

If I'm not wrong, its basically breaking things down, and assembling or pattern arrange down to the atom level. As you say in its infancy, but the millitary and government cdertainly has more than toys, I would say.
How far does it change our paradyme ? Will we be able to actually display matter as we know it ? What kinds of implications would it have say in medical field ?
-- Sidetrack ---
One more things, if we can learn that there are more than 3c dimensions, this could have tramendous implications... |
