Post subject: Where to buy a baby crib and a toddler bed?

EDIT: I got a PM from a nice lady and made me understand that my post needs some clarifications. We're still in the US, so we don't know where to shop in Shanghai. Thank you.

Today we got an unwanted surprise from the management company of our furnished apartment - they are not going to provide a baby crib and a toddler bed for my children which should be there when we arrive next week. Now I can't imagine we arrive in Shanghai and there are no beds for them.

What I need to do now is to find out (1) which stores sell baby cribs and toddler beds and (2) they are available for purchase immediately. (The reason I mentioned this is it took 8 weeks to get our son's baby crib delivered here at home.)

Also, are high quality baby mattresses such as Simmons Sleep N More available in Shanghai? If not, I am thinking of bring their mattresses at home as checked baggages when we fly to Shanghai. (Am I nut?) Confused

Thank you for "listening"!

Not sure how high quality they are, but IKEA sells cribs and children's furniture (www.ikea.com). Delivery and assembly in China is cheap and fast. A friend decided to splurge and have IKEA assemble the bunk bed she bought - she was amazed that the cost was only 20 RMB - to have someone come out to her home and spend 2 hours putting together the bed. Delivery was next day. I have also seen other stores with baby furniture - one in the Brillance West Mall near HongQiao - JianHe Rd at XianXia.

Tumom, thank you for your post. I'm always grateful to poeple like you who are so helpful!

One question about the www.ikea.com: does Ikea in Shanghai sell the same merchandises listed in www.ikea.com? (I meant the same merchadises they sell in the US?) If so, I'll swing by Ikea here tomororow.

The IKEA website is different for each country and the Chinese site is in Mandarin BUT has lots of pictures. I believe that their merchandise is standard, though some items may not be available in the Shanghai store. We bought some IKEA shelves in Germany that are the same ones they sell here. You used to be able to get a free catalog at the store - then you can compare the pictures to the ones on the Chinese website.
I also saw cribs today at Carrefour.
