There is nothing that gauls me more than a bunch of conquered peoples complaining about being conquered................should just wipe em all out |

Good proposal, BDXR..Should we Chinese start w/ t¡betans, Xinjigang's Urygur and the Monglolians. Ok, we will turn a blind eye to the Iraqis, Iranians and any radical Muslims. |

Everyday that America exists is Independence Day to me. But my well wish to every American here is belated as I was busy celebrating yesterday. |

Thanks, ctshen. Same to you. I'm over here in the UK trying to celebrate. Pretty tough crowd, as you can imagine! |

LOL Goosie just tell'em it's all a big misunderstanding! Patton (according to the movie) quoted George Bernard Shaw as saying that the British and American are "two people separated by a common language". Always thought that was a good one.
Did you hear the latest insult of the English by Mr. Chirac that the only contribution of Britain to agriculture is mad cows and that English food is only second worst after Finnish? I guess English food isn't German enough for him. Hey listen, tell your English friends that if there's too much fog in the Channel, the American Continent will never be cut off to them. |

Why do all Americans (and Chinese too) think that England is constantly foggy? |

Actually, I dont have blind faith in anything and they are not my leaders. I didnt vote for him (nor the other pompous idiot...Ive been voting 3rd party ("GO NADER!") ever since I got the right in 1990), I dont support most aspects of the current foreign policy, I dont support their fiscal policy, and I dont agree with just about every stance they take on social issues. I did not support the attack the unilateral attack on Iraq nor the subsequent lies and half-truths that ensued. BUT....I do think there is more to the current situation than

so why did America invade iraq bleucheese? i woulD likE to knoW.
let's see:
*nothing to do with terrorism
*nothing to do with 911
*nothing to do with WMD (only the USA really has those)
so what is the reason because if it wasn't to secure oil supplies (of which america only has about 10 years reserves) there doesn't seem to be any other choice.'
how could u think it was for anything else? |

Well Mags....I would be your secret boyfriend....hehehe.
to all of you, thanks for the (national) best wishes.
and meandering on.....
yep the current political events are sad and dismal and very unfortunate for all of us. believe me unfortunate for us americans too. our forfathers im sure are turning and rolling in their graves at the mockery and sad state our govt is in.
Go Libertarian Party. this country so needs to get back to what we once were. i pitty our future generations here in the US. unfortunatly they are the ones that will bear the burden of the deciet and corruption and shame of our current govt.
too sad a thread to continue, gets me too depressed.
later folks. |

I was referring to a famous English newspaper headline from the good-old days of British self-confidence: "Fog in Channel, Continent Cut off". For a LONG time before the current British political thinking, the Brits had considered themselves quite apart from the Continental European trends and proud of that fact. |

We still do and are.
We're kind of like the Japanese. An island nation.
It's funny this, I've spoken to Japanese about this...... |
