Arthid2004:
do not agree with you. i think it is more up to you than to the girls. if you do not like to sleep with a girl, it won't happen. |

Why do I want to meet a western girl? Because with her I can talk, I can go to a bar and drink only, I can go to dance even like "dirty dance" and there is no need to end the night in my bed. She can be really my friend. What's wrong with that!!!
|
Don't know why.
I had a good time with a Singapourian girl I never slept with.
Yesterday I spent my evening with a group of very nice and interesting Philipino persons...
I also know some Chinese persons I like to spend time with.
Of course you can also find people of the other kind, but you don't in the west? All the western are best fiends |

Not really.
I judge a lot, maybe too much.
But I like what you wrote... |

Seriously, I'm taken , in my 20's, but I've met many single, young expat women...
Open your eyes. There's heaps of single women around.
|
I agree with Crikey. I've only been here a few weeks but I've met many single expat girls. Maybe you're not looking at the right places. A lot are asian looking expats so it wouldn't be quite as obvious that they're expats. pubs, ShanghaiExpat events, nightclubs. Just stay away from those expat bars with large number of old white men with young chinese girls and you should find them |

Can anyone ask Michael to set up a new section in the board for all these single expat girls?
I volunteer to control, err, moderate this one..

Chicane, mantis, you should come along to the Shanghai Youth Expat coffee meetings on Saturday afternoon. there are many expat guys and girls our age. You can chat with people and meet them face to face rather than words on a page Anyway we occassionally organise dinner and/or saturday night activities |

You're only as young as you feel most people that come along on Saturday are between 20 and 30. |

Well said. I am in my early 30s but I feel like I'm 20.
BTW: I do attend the get-together when I have time. |

hehe... I'm with Rio. I prefer the expat girls as well and most of the friends I've made and girls I've dated here are expat girls Its easy to give an example of why - I remember at the Shanghai Expat speed dating thing I was at, 5 minutes was too much time for the local girls, they ran out of things to talk about whereas with the expat ladies, I had to buy them a drink afterwards and kept chatting. I think (for some of us guys anyway ) its about common interests and experiences as well as physical attraction and the rest of it.
Unfortunate thing is about dating expat girls (and I guess guys too) is that a lot of them are here for a short time only. I think I've got to start finding ones that are here for the longer term |

Personally, I don't like Chinese girls, speically shanghaiese girls. It's a personality issue, Seems like there are ONLY two types of girls. The ones I see at the bars are most likely shallow and gold diggerish, and the ones at the school are most likely to be really nerdy and don't know how to party. There is not much in between. I want find someone who has a lot of culture and also knows how to have a good time. Anybody agrees with me? |

Illini, you can't have it both way. Personally, I like a partying girl when I go to party. I like a home girl when I'm at home. Why not have two girls or multiple for that matter. Why do you need one girl to party and stay home with? |
