Post subject: Bombing in London!

I have just heard on the news that there have been 6 bombs simultaneously gone off on the London underground (not so far from where I am). After such celebrations of the winning Olympic bid yesterday , what utter cowards would do such a thing!?

Hey

Im in the UK and the bombings are all over the news on the TV. I think is disgraceful and is not the sort of news needed after yesterdays celebrations. Possible terrorist attacks? They are saying on TV that it is Al Qaeda.

Not sure I'd go quite so far as to say 'disgraceful', I mean it is quite a strong word.

I agree. Whoever allowed this should be ashamed of themselves.

Whoever it is, the UK law enforcement agencys should hunt them down and the members of the organisation that they represent and bring their pitiful actions to justice..... I'm sure they will.

Whether it be ETA, Al Qaeda, IRA or whoever...there will be justice.

Without a doubt they will get them. The UK authorities are one of the best in the World at that. Its obviously that they stopped a few attacks before but unfortunately this one got through.

Do the terrorists hate G8 summit or the results of olympic bidding?

Well quite obvious thought comes that whichever city won would receive bombing the next day. It is horrible as any terrost attacks.

I remember very well living in Moscow and having explosions from time to time, it is very scary. Metro was attacked on the line I used to take to go to work, that day I went by car and a bit earlier but a girl from my house block was killed.

Just hope that no more bombs in London will explose (as in other places).

Here in the UK they are saying that the bombings were probably beacuse of the G8 summit as the worlds most important leaders are here in the UK at the moment. So this was a message to Bush, Blair, Chirac, Putin etc. I guess the olympic thing was maybe a coincidence but it would not surprise me if the French knew about this attack.

'disgraceful' is not a strong word. 'Murdering and maiming innocent people'....now they are strong words and I'm sure Tony Blair will find the organisations that are accountable, then eliminate them. I vote we declare the Isle of Wight a separate state then turn it into a British Guantanamo Bay lol

...or maybe turn it into a Battle Royale Game.

My deepest condolence to London. I don't think that the words used in this discussion are too strong. After all, what DO you call the bastards that would set off bombs in subway trains or a crowded bus?

I remember a few years ago (Oct. 12, 2002), when a night club in Bali was bombed, an al Queda spokesman said, "we would've liked to have selected a British or American target. But no problem: they're all infidels anyway."

I think that statement clarified the current conflict more than anything else.

Now the so-called Al Quaeda bombed London? Or perhaps it turns out the new Iranian leader is behind all this, so we can sent the UK-US coalition troops to kill them all. Sounds like Bush and his butler Blair are not the last to benefit from this latest masquerade.

OK, you've persuaded me. It is 'disgraceful'! In fact, I'll put myself out on a limb here and describe it as 'very disgraceful'.

To the Brits on this site and some friends in London. Your behavior speaks to your style and dignity. I raise my glass to you and my prayers for all who are caught up in this.

In addition, I have to go and collect my Chinese VISA today from the embassy which I need to get to by the Underground/Subway probably using the Bakerloo line. Lucky it wasn't yesterday otherwise I would have been totally up the creek without a paddle.

I have not got the first idea of what can go through the minds of people that can do something like this. I have every hope at least that they will be caught, but unfortunately that does not deter these sort of people.
