| Post subject: GUANXI SMS got new NUMBER |
do you remember GUANXI SMS? (or did you know we have GUANXI SMS here in shanghai?)
they just changed their center number...
85880
is their number.
i think, right now their are still rectifying few bugs with their 'new' system. but according to them their new system will be much better and faster delivering information that you have requested form them through your SMS.
why dont you try to GUANXI something now and JAM their system... hahahahaha...
good luck to all!!!

I use Guanxi pretty often. But I tried the new number recently but only got some garbled responses to my queries.

yes, 2 cities on 1 number is confusing... should keep beijing and shanghai seperate.
#1 rule -- never launch until you test it. |

i reckon they're scamming texts to bring in the business tiger. get a promo message back from your enquiry (that you pay for i may add), and then sucker you in to try and get your mates in on the 'action'. raising capital so they can plug the holes? there must have been a reason why they changed numbers...
but of course, that's what the little voice in my head says - these guys... i've got words for them that won't be typed here. grr....

Its does still exsit but the number is now 85887 and for some bizzare reason you have to write "2" before every query you have. |

Why would anyone take a good service and screw it up so badly? Mickey mouse. Unbelievable. |

I beleive its still run by the same Aussie bloke that started it. Having to use the special ServicePprovider numbers may have screwed them up as they have to deal with the Chinese telecoms. Oh what a joy that is...
Nonetheless, it is not as good a service as it used to be when it wazs more a community service that generated funds than a full blown commercial interest. i mean come on, moon river diner is not even listed in their system. They used to be. Guess their database lost their contacts or maybe they insisted on advertising fees so they could collect on the liting side as well as the user side...double dipping, great. |

Yu, agree with you there. Seems that they are asking venues to pay for a listing now, not very community spirited. I was showing a new arrival how to use it and all 3 venues I tried got the same response...not listed, go ask the venue to to contact us.

I tried the new number using "2" and it didn't work. Hammerlife do you use China mobile or China Unicom? |

Have heard through the ever (un)reliable shanghai grapevine that the Aussie guy was f***ed over by a chinese partner while he was trying to sell. They have basically taken the database and changed the number instead of buying the business. If you go to the coupons they offer there a few incredible offers available - unfortunately the disclaimers I've seen in a few bars seem to suggest its Guanxi making them up and not the bars!!!
Another example of doing business in china! |
