Post subject: James Bond quits smoking (and dyes his hair)

Quote:
The Times October 15, 2005

007's dirty habit banned as new star confirmed
By Dalya Alberge, Arts Correspondent
JAMES BOND will be banned from smoking in his latest film as it could have a bad influence on children — but murder and torture are just fine, Daniel Craig said yesterday after being confirmed as the new 007.

Ian Fleming’s spy was a 70-a-day smoker but as an iconic hero for a PG 12 film in the 21st century, “it’s not quite the right thing”, the film’s director, Martin Campbell, said yesterday.

Craig, a 37-year-old blond actor from the Wirral, brought to an end two years of speculation over who would play the role. Looking the part in sunglasses and a black suit, even if he was chewing gum, he made a dramatic debut by arriving aboard a Royal Marines speedboat for a press conference on the banks of the Thames.

“I’m speechless at the moment,” he said as he posed for photographers.

The producer Barbara Broccoli said that production on the 21st Bond film, Casino Royale, based on Fleming’s first 007 book, would begin in January.

There has been quite a lot of coverage in the news over here. Ironicly enough, his mother gave the game away the day before when she admitted she was excited at her son being offered a role like this.

Pierce Brosnan was being interviewed on Wednesday and had still not been told that he was being replaced.

There was only one James Bond and his name was Sean Connery.

Obviously i would be slightly biased but Sean Connery was definitely my favourite bond although i think the movies made over the last few years have been good and Pierce did a good job.

They say the new movie will be a return to something a bit more original in that it will have less humour and concentrate more on what a 'spy' supposedy does and will have more violence and sh1t.

MI6 have launched a recruitment campaign on the back of this.

so many greedy and snobbish and selfish moms out there ... sounds rather universal eh?

shame.

hopefully, they've still got enough decent children, the better next generation, to wash off the shame for them - part of the humanity thing, really.

Actually there were several.

Sean Connery.

Roger Moore.

George Lazenby.

To name just a few....

Maybe you should do a search before making such foolish claims.

It's 1.30am here and this thread is becoming confusing and childish.

I prefer the J. Bond with more violence and sh1t than one with so-called humour of spy style, put it in a simpler way, lies. I am there for the MOVIE to watch how melove good guys give bloody damn't good beat to mehatebad guys - f*cking coolness that always is. i am not there to waste my brain cells for those fake characters.

as for other Bond, I am not sure violence and sh1t will do the work.

let me think think ... oh the bond between your ass and my feet maybe? the more violence there is, the stronger the bond is. and in the case of kicking the sh1t out of your ass, sure the more sh1t I see, the stronger the bond is!

yes, i am on prozac, again!

2 Questions.

1. Where is MMM going?

2. D, do you not see how your posts are a waste of time and noone appreciates them? Have you ever thought of posting like everyone else?

I have no issues apart from the fact i stayed in tonight, drank wine and now feel seriously dizzy. I now realise why Mat sells it in glasses and not pint tumblers.
