| Post subject: David Lee Roth |
I heard hes replacing Howard Stern (good fuqin luck with that gig) and they posted a recent pic in the NY Times.
I used to worship that guy back in '81, '82.
Van Halen I, II, Diver Down.... not only did they rock harder than any of their contemporaries (especially those ridiculous hair bands they unfortunately spawned) but Roth was the king of all poon hounds at that time, bar none. Every video had him surrounded by beckoning babes and every mtv news brief (by martha quinn) had him with two blonde bombs by his side.
Even in his solo days he rocked.... ... just a gigolo and everywhere I go
WTF happened to him?
He looks absolutely terrible.
He traded in the cool flowing mane for a Toni and Fag highlighted wave?
And whats with the serious eczema (either that or hes been chowing some 2 day shadow box....which would redeem some of his coolness.)
He looks like mmm if he were in better shape and had more hair. |

But worse is that in California Adam Carolla will replace the Stern show and that means he's leaving Lovelines. I've listened to Lovelines since their first year. |

My brother met disco dave in a strip joint in my home town the year he went solo. My bro sat and talked to him for a bit, mainly about Steve Vie (guitarist for his band). Apparently he was there with a few girls who were none too ugly. It sounded like he was a really good guy.
I think that whole Van Halen character assassination of Dave was not cool. Then they tried the same thing with Sammy when he left. But let's face it, the talent that is Eddie Van Halen is incredible.
i loved a lot of Dave's solo stuff, Yankee Rose and Just like Living in Paradise still rock.
What happened?
What happens to a lot of great gigalos.....they get old and retire because women are the worst drug of all. |

1) David Lee Roth still gets 10s. Come on! He probably can get more ass then a toilet seat anyday anytime.
2) 5150 is an amazing Van Halen album. Roth Van Halen was good, but he was an ******* and they kicked him out. He was doing interviews without telling the rest of the band.
I saw Van Halen live once. Eddie was on stage for like 20 minutes soloing with noone else up there. It was damn amazing! The show opened with Eddie playing the guitar with a drill. |

What is wrong with you people? When you are ex-Van Halen lead singer, living ina mansion and the host of Stern's old radio show, it doesn't matter what he looks like. He can still get the hottest chicks. |

Jason Becker
"In 1989 Becker's reputation as skilled axeman reached the ears of former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth, who tapped the 20-year-old guitarist to fill the guitar spot vacated by Steve Vai. The following year Becker was voted "Best New Guitarist" by the readers of Guitar Magazine, but was dealt a devastating blow shortly after when he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and given about three years to live. Although he managed to complete the recording sessions for Roth's A Little Ain't Enough album, the disease left him too weak to tour and was forced to bow out. Jason Becker's last recorded guitar playing occured in 1992." |

Who knows if the book will be out soon, i am still writing anyway. Not sure if anyone will read it but it could be interesting for a few friends and my kids, where ever they may be. |

I can't remember the lyrics to anything -- even my own songs, so I can sympathize. |

He was famous for forgeting the words to song. Actually there is some classic video of Van Halen at the US festival (don't know if people remember this but it was supposed to be as big as woodstock, before live aid and all the others and Van Halen was paid 1million to perform there which was a huge amount of money at the time). |
