Does anyone find it strange that on Friday I am going to see Bauhaus play in 2005? |

They really only had one decent song and that was 'Bela Lugosi's Dead'. As BleuCheese said, Love & Rockets were a little better.
And what kind of band calls themselves Bauhaus for fcuks sake?? How poncey. |

i remember the name of the band, but can't remember any of their songs.
I think i am confusing them with bananarama. |

They were exactly the same as Bananarama except they were preoccupied with death and committing suicide. Bananarama were preoccupied with getting married and having kids. |

I went to see The Cure in the 80's. Not really a fan but I was given a ticket and went.
Tons of goth chicks there. All really fat and covered in white paint while trying to look ethereal.
No thanks. |

Yeah the pegan/goth fatties. No there are these tiny little goth babes out there. There are. Real petite ones. Lots of Asians here go goth because of their traumatic study until you drop childhood.
Actually, in all seriousness, I have heard every Bauhaus song, and they have many very good songs. In The Flat Field and Mask have many good songs on there. Love and Rockets I've seen 3 times back in the day. |

my radio believe me i like it loud
i'm the man with the box that can rock the crowd
walking down the street to the hardcore beat
while my JVC vibrates the concrete.

In 1986-87 I had Run DMC Raising Hell, and Beastie Boys License to Ill going on throughout the day, everyday. But my posse is still on Broadway. |

i had those too but prefer LL Cool J and Public Enemy. Still love that stuff actually. Doug E Fresh.
You can't believe how hard it was to get this music in Canada. I had to bring LL Cool J's Radio in as a special import through the record store, the guy said i was probably one of about 3 people in the country that had it at the time.
i could probably still quote every lyric.
Then came NWA and the whole game changed. |

LL COOL J IS HARD AS HELL!
NWA was my favorite. Easy-E will always be the best rapper. |

Man, think of that band, Easy E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre....how could they not dominate the rap world.
Staight outta compton changed the whole game. Made every rapper to that point look like school kids. All the sudden this whole LL Cool J vs Kool Moe Dee was a waste of time. They were all wondering if they could ever make and album as good as Straight Outta Compton.
EasyE was hilarious. I can see him being your idol.
we wanna fcuk you Easy
i wanna fcuk you too!!! |

Remember man, at least 30% of my school was from Compton or outside of Compton like South Central LA from the hood. I used to really be scared to not wear red or blue shirts. I was in a fight in 1989 behind a movie theatre in a parking lot and I had British Knight shoes on. BK otherwise known as Blood Killer, and some big black gangster dude wanted to jump in and beat the dude I was fighting because he was a Cryp. I told him to lay off though. |

AJJ, Bahaus is talked about in today's LA Times Calendar section in case you are interested. I saw them
at the last Coachella festival--or let me rephrase that, I saw them play about 5 minutes of 'Bela Lugos's Dead" at the festival. Obviously I didn't go to the event for them. The show was entertaining as it opened with Peter Murphy singing that song while he was hanging upside down. Then about a minute passed and it was just really damned annoying so I left. |

Have you seen that movie The Hunger lately? I think it opens with Bahaus. I saw it again a few weeks ago. Still holds up IMHO. |

They aren't that old dude. You aren't in a wheel chair in your 40s. It should be loads of fun. They're good. |
