Post subject: Looking for a GOOD sofa bed

I'm trying to find a GOOD sofa bed in Shanghai. Do you know someone who makes them? Do you know a store that sells good quality sofa beds?

I know it's obvious but have you tried Ikea?

You may want to try one of the furniture malls. We went to the Jisheng Wellborn in Gubei to buy a mattress and it was full of upscale showrooms (including foreign brands like Roche Bubois), so may have what you are looking for. Be prepared to pay though...

I like Ikea, however, I would like to find something more upscale. I don't really want to pay the price for Roche Bubois. Any other recommendations.

Get one of them heavy duty air filled sofa/sofa beds that are advertised on tv. Wink haha

The one I am talkinga bout is where two trucks push the sofa together from either side and can't break it. Wink I am considering getting one, from what I was told, at the department store near me. This is Hefei by the way, not Shanghai. I am sure they have it there too somewhere.

I bought a small one for my computer room. But it was at Ikea.

Any thoughts to a futon? Those are pretty easy to find although may not coordinate with you decor or concept.

Several large furniture malls a bit in from Yi Shan Road, near Xu Jia Hui. Can never remember the exact address. Various styles and price ranges.

Huai Hai Road, west of Xiang Yang has several furniture stores but most are on the pricey side.

Bo Designs or Concepts has a showroom in Shanghai. They moved about a year ago but I don't know the new address. They weren't super iexpensive but the prices weren't terrible.

there is a manufacturers showroom type store over in pudong. its where we bought nearly all of our furniture when we first arrived in SH 3yrs back. one can find all kinds of furniture there as its 3 levels, and basically its sold much cheaper than retail. that said you can buy the chepaer quality furntiure there as the more high end stuff too. i have to dig out the address as i can't recall where it is exactly, being that we didnt know SH at all well back then.
3yrs later and the furntiure still hanging in there, albiet with some little niggles.
also a couple of friends have had sofa beds, not high quality, but just cheap useable spares... that have proved there worth. not sure if you want cheap or not?

I bought a sofa bed from there for about 1000 and I liked it better than anything at Ikea (which was out of stock on a bunch of stuff anyway). There are heaps of furniture stores at Yi Shan road, and they have a big range of prices too, including more upscale stuff.
