If you allow the threats of terrorists to completely freak you out and to significantly disrupt your daily life, then you have allowed them the victory. I choose not to do that!
Sure, I take precautions. I'm an Aussie and because of that I'm a target, along with other nationalities whether we agree or not with our respective government's policies. The fact is I could get hit, no matter where I am. I accept that.
I will continue to travel and work wherever I need to. I will continue to go out and explore as I please. I will be careful though. But I won't give in to these barbaric, fundamentalist, fringe element, extremist low lifes. No way!! |

Hey all,
It doesn't help that I had to write out my will yesterday!! I feel a bit better today but I am really hoping the chinese government has a no hold bar policy at customs and has uped the security.
Flying - HATE FLYING
Terrorists - HATE TERRORISTS
Leaving my kids - HATE LEAVING MY KIDS
Oh boy, this should be an interesting few weeks... |

just flew back from beijing today. it was the first time they asked me to take off my jacket for x-ray, and also lots of police / army in the airport both there and in shanghai.. so they are still on alert, but for sure nowhere as strict as in the states... |
